I think these cars are beautiful and when you consider you can get one now in the high 40s it’s a great deal.

I had a c400 and traded it for an e 43. No contest. The E is a better car than the C in every dimension end of story. Better tech, better brakes better suspension better comfort, better build quality..... do I need say more.

You shouldnt even compare the E class to the C class.

I had the same issue in the beginning of this year. but my case was, E300 or C300. I test drove both. and ended up with the E.
the only way I can explain is, The E class is a pure Mercedes German engineered car.

When I got my E450 Cabriolet I was really thinking about a C300 Cabriolet to save the 22 grand, the cars were parked side by side at the dealership and when I compared the E450 it was worth the price difference to me.

2011 BMW 535i
Since I'm the OP of this tread, time to update it :-). I'm please to announce that I'm a proud owner of 2018 E43 AMG now :-). I drove 2011 535i for 8 years and switched to E43 and love the change. E43 is much more. So much more fun and super luxurious. I find the ride comfortable enough. Well its a mix bag. Car has 20" wheels on it with run flat tires. Clearly not the combo for comfort. On a smooth road, it does well. Hitting speed breakers won't break your back either or catch you off guard. But train tracks or hitting some bump can start making you think that did you just put a dent on the trim. So far so good :-). Putting car in S+ is fun fun fun. I haven't driven E63 (Thank God) so can't compare it with E63 but I do like how responsive it is. Put the foot down hard and it will throw you back in the seat. Love that :-). Of course if you don't want that then drive in comfort mode and don't push hard on gas. Even in C mode, if you put the foot down hard, it will push you back but there is a small delay since its not raving all the time in C like it does in S+ mode. In S+ mode its just roaring and raving and hungry to go fast.
Now what is it I miss in it??? C43 Performance Exhaust. When the car is on and park, it's very quiet and doesn't sound like an AMG even when its in S+. I don't super loud sound coming out of car but would love to hear some nice deep notes like "ba da da da da da" but not so loud that a person standing on other side of street can hear the car. I think C43 exhaust sounds great (based on my memory 2 years ago). Too bad that options wasn't available for my car. So now looking for advice/option to make my car sound similar to C43 exhaust or E63 exhaust :-) without putting an engine light on.

Enjoy! I love mine. They didn't include the farty muffler till the 53 version. No worries it doesn't make it any faster😁. If your interested the Renntech HHT does provide a modest boost and does increase the exhaust sound too. Its pricey but completely invisible till you call for all the ponies.

Thanks for sharing your experience with your car! Glad to hear that you are enjoying yours and thanks for your update.
As for wanting to sound more to the C43, someone have it successfully done, please take a look here:
