Collision Alarm

After washing the car the other day I got a ‘Collision Alarm’ with date and time on my Mercedes Me on my phone. There was no collision and all is okay. Probably assessed my cleaning as a collision.

My question is that I cannot seem to remove the alarm either from my phone or the portal on the web. I have tried clearing personal data, logging out and back in again and even deleted app and reinstalled but it is still there. Cannot find anything in MB website or google.

Anyone got got any ideas?

Try contacting Mercedes Me customer service directly from your car.

I see a way to deactivate the feature from the app (I use the Android version), provided I've correctly understood what you're referring to.

Tap the gear icon to access vehicle settings.

There is an option called "Vehicle alarm". Click through where there is a toggle for "Collision and tow-away protection". That should do it.

Thanks have done that. I actually quite like the idea of the feature, but when I turn back on it flags up the collision alarm I referred to.

Ah, I see. In that case I can't help as I've never had a collision alarm and I'd like it to stay that way

Surely there must be a way to acknowledge/dismiss the alert. If you find out, please do share.

how the heck does one get collision alerts?
i tried the alarm the other day and even then the car won't send anything to my phone,
which i strange that they didn't implement such feature.

Egon,

On front page of Mercedes Me app I have the collision alert circle.

To set it up, click on little gear wheel (settings) and on mine there is a toggle switch for alarm setting and collision alarms. Ensure that is on. If anyone touches your car when you are not in it or near it it sends you an alert.

must be based on what country the app is in. There is none of that stuff in the USA app either. Just a notification as to whether or not the door is locked or unlocked. The alarm notification looks much more useful. My alarm in my convertible was set off a couple months ago and went off for quite a while and I got no notifications which I thought was strange.

the impact collission mudt be a hardware thing, so impossible to activate in older cars,
but why the "older" car sends a message when doors unlocked, but NOT when alarm goes off is beyond me

Hi,

As others have said the last alert will remain and cannot be reset. I raised through dealer back to app team in Germany and they confirmed that is how it designed to work! I argued on the basis that I have not had a collusion and therefore was reported incorrectly but us now in the history of the car on the Me platform.

Didn’t get anywhere!!

The alarm in the App says 'minor collision from an unidentified direction detected'. The car was parked and wasnt driven given the timestamp, only thing I can think of that could have triggered this is the bad weather as it was pouring it down and windy

The Mercedes me connect version 2.14 release notes (about one month ago) say = “Our latest update includes the following: New vehicle status notification such as: car alarm notifications, parking damage detection, errors in charging status, and more.”

I don't have have any of those things in the Mercedes me connect app. I’ve tried setting of the alarm to see if I would get any notification. I did not.

Does anyone in the USA with a 2019 car get these notifications or have them in the app?

I asked Mercedes me connect support through the app how to enable car alarm and parking damage notification after having seen the pictures of those features in the app on this thread. Their answer is that the features are automatically activated and can not be turned on or off. I don’t know if I buy that answer after seeing the pics of those features on this forum. Also, have set off the alarm and not gotten any notifications. Maybe the alarm has to sound longer than I allowed for a notification to be sent. This is the support response:

“Thank you for contacting Mercedes me connect regarding the new app update notifications. The alarm and collision notification is already build into the app software automatically activated. There is no manual way to turn them on or off.”

I think that is the way it is and depends on region and car options. Having said that, I can turn on or off the features.

I don't even think there is a Collision alarm. My Cabrio was hit in a parking lot this past summer and nothing. Six months ago the alarm went off and I couldn't seem to turn it off as the keys were locked in the center console, again nothing on notifications. Too bad they don't have either of these features, but they just don't.

I called “Me” support from the car with the “Me” button. They confirmed that all my available services were active. Car alarm and parking damage detection notifications have not been implemented yet. The support agent said he expects it to be available soon but didn’t have any official details.

Before I made the call I set off my car alarm to see if there would be a notification if I let the alarm go for several minutes. I found that when the alarm is set off, the lights on all 4 corners flash and the horn sounds on and off for 30 seconds. The lights continue to flash for a total of 5 minutes, then everything shuts off. I didn’t get any notifications.

I noticed too at least in my Cabriolet that all the mood lighting on the interior flashes different colors too when the alarm goes off. Looked like a 1970s disco. Kinda embarrassing when that happened. I was on the car with the top down in front of a fancy Restaurant in Sarasota and the keys locked themselves in the center console. That was last winter. I tried to unlock the car with the app but it didn’t work.

My ambient light was flashing too but it was hard to see in bright daylight. Earlier in the year I was looking at cars in the dealer showroom and the sales guy accidentally set off an alarm. It is quite a show inside the car that went in for a while because the sales person had to search for a key. None of the sales people knew the ambient lighting flashed as part of the alarm. We all learned something.

My car was on a Ferry the other day and for the 1st time I got this message. (nothing bad, was just the rolling of the ship that set it off)
Nothing about this feature is mentioned in the manual. Could it be that it was added with a recent command update?
my phone app still doesn't have the feature though, so got no message on it

I think it was added to pre 2019 cars in Sept 2019 but in the Comand update so don’t think it appears on Mercedes Me app for those cars.
