It's good to see you have finally got it.
I would be very happy if you can share an instruction on how to swap screen and everything? Also where to buy that LCD screen.
Thank you.

No, it was the Coax/Fakra cable which plugs in the NTG head unit in the IC and DISP slot(Instrument Cluster and Display).
Which was ordered brand new, but due to a faulty cable I nearly spend a complete month searching and guessing

Hi guys, as promised.

First of all my initial setup:

Garmin map pilot, small 8 inch LCD multimedia display
Analog speedometer.
NTG 5 head unit.

What i had to buy

NEW screen(because if you would buy an used screen, you would face the 'dashes' issue: your mileage wouldn't be displayed. There is a workaround, but its costly)*dealer price 2700 euro, I got mine for 1300 euro.
NTG 5.5 Head unit( High Command) Dealer*dealer price 3200 euro, I got mine for 800 euro.
Multimedia Module(Optional, but i wanted apple carplay, so this was a must have) 200 euro
wiring harnass for multimedia module 90 euro
Wire harnass for LCD.. I think it's called the LVDS cable 80 euro
Coding was around 200 euro, but still some things aren't good....

First step is to install the new head unit and wires, it is plug and play. The multimedia module does need a seperate 12V source.
The screen install is peanuts, 3 T20 screws and swap it out.
Coding should be done by someone who knows what they are doing.

It took me several weeks to get it working, but as I said earlier, I have never worked with benz before.
And I dont have C4/Das/Xentry/Vediamo, which I might buy in the near future.

I added a pic of the result.

For now it works, just two minor issues left

First; my backup camera is displayed incorrectly, it has the old resolution, and its super glitchy. parking sensors/parkpilot not working properly anymore
Second; Ambient lighting isnt working yet... But In the light settings menu of the car I cant set brightness level for the cockpit, so my guess is, that is not coded?

AFTER CODING THE SCREEN
Hey all,

I am new to MB altogether, was always a loyal BMW driver, but my last car was so problematic that I decided to switch.
The local dealer where I got the Beamer had this W213 and i liked it, some paperwork and we swapped keys.

There was just one thing, IT DOESNT HAVE A LARGE FULL SCREEN LCD?(WHAT WAS MB THINKING?)

Oh well, retrofitting time.

So far?

- Full screen LCD
- NTG 5.5 High
- New multimedia Module with a phone symbol(so i guess its high line)
- Cable for the Multimedia module
- wire harness for the ambient lighting
- Did the coding

Results so far:

Screen left side (LCD) working properly, responding to steering wheel, speedo, rpm and everything is working
Right side(LCD). pitch black, i hear a sound for 1 sec and then nothing?

Does anyone have the slightest clue? because i'm out of idea's...
Which wire harness did you buy? I installed my new screen and everything worked minus the ambient lighting. Please let me know. Thanks

Could you please post part numbers of the items purchased to complete this retrofit (especially the NTG 5.5 Command unit , multimedia module and wiring harness)?

Right I got most the parts; I just need help with the wiring harness for the ambient lighting. Did you make up this harness yourself or did you buy this part from Mercedes? If later; could you possibly provide the part number, so I can order from the dealership?

Many thanks,

You may want to try check Ebay (Item number: 263899914168); this should hopefully solve your issue. Let us know how you got on.

Part numbers for everything needed would be much appriciated!
There is lots of parts avaible in the junkyards and searchble by original parts number!

I think these are correct for Europe/Sweden left hand drive, but not at all sure about it so dont take my word for it! its very confusing

Small screen 2139009406 (with analog cluster)
Big screen 2139007520 or 2139004724 (with analog cluster) i think first number is 2016-2017 and second is 2018->
Widescreen 2135400271 or 2135405292i think first number is 2016-2018 and second is 2019->

Headunit small screen NTG 5 2139005311 or 2139004316
Headunit big screen NTG 5.5 2139003921 or 2139002025
Headunit widescreen NTG 5.5 2139003026 or NR 213 2229009519 i think first number is 2016-2018 and second is 2019->

11U MBCONNECT - REMOTE ONLINE (HERMES)
351 E-CALL EMERGENCY CALL SYSTEM
355 PREINSTALLATION FOR NAVIGATION RETROFITTING
357 SD CARD NAVIGATION
360 HERMES - COMMUNICATION MODULE UMTS
522 AUDIO 20 RADIO NAVIGATION CAPABLE NTG5

Did you manage to resolve the reverse camera resolution and Parking Sensor/Park Pilot issue? If so, can you advise how you fixed/resolved this issue?
