Cost adblue refill
Had my summer tyres put back on today and as the adblue tank was half empty decided to get the dealer to top it up as i have some long trips planned before the car goes in for its first annual service.
Car has done about 7900km.
It cost 45 euros. Mercedes have an app enabling you to locate petrol stations with car adblue filling pumps and i was wondering what the difference in price might be.
Any europeans here able to help paint a picture of how much owners spend on adblue?

Am waiting for a copy of the bill (they could not print it iff at the time) to check quantity.
Searching i see halfords do a refill service for up to 10litres at 19.99 sterling. On old money pre the crash and more recent events 45 euros would be around 32 sterling so not so far away. But yes buying the stuff and self filling looks a lot cheaper....feu vert a halfords type chain sells it for 11.99 euro per 10 litres. Only worry is making sure you get good quality stuff as it seems it is not entirely well regulated yet with a certification system.
The e is using more than my 2015 c class which went between services with no issues.
My garage do swap the tyres foc and store the spare set foc as well so i shall give them a bit of leeway.

parkwood, find a Total, they have pumps where you just pump it like regular gas.
to fill up the tank costs abt 10 euros (forgot how many liters that is, but it's cheap)
maybe others (shell, esso) have it too, but here in Marseille area i only found total..

How were you able to tell the adblue tank was half empty?

Just buy a big container of adblue from any filling station and pour it in. Best punch a couple of holes at the top of the container to let the liquid flow out more quickly. I suggest you wear old trousers and shoes as the container is designed to **** adblue all over your feet no matter how carefully you screw the little hose on.

It also comes up if you go to mercedes me via the web portal NOT the app. But the app does not show it nor do neither (web portal or app) show the oil level so that can only be done in the car.

In the US, I'd say either buy it from Walmart or do the same and get it at a truck stop, they have pumps there that dispense it just like gasoline and it's even cheaper than those jugs at Walmart.

Apparently here in europe some of the trucks have different filler necks meaning the nozzles do not fit cars and i have also seen warnings the rate of delivery at the truck filling point is way too high for a car to cope with.
But am going to take the advice and use a garage filling point before the car is serviced in sept!

The garage have sent me the bill and they charged 2233 euro labour the hourly rate is 77 euro hors taxe which is 20%. The adblue was 1 unit ( I assume 10litres) 14.83 so not that much dearer than at fue vert.
So 22.33€ plus 20% or go to a garage and fill up myself....but I must be fair the garage swap my summer and winter wheels free and also now store the spare set (until i bought the e class i kept them at home. No problem i have the space but loading and unloading them was a faff).
Overall I find the mercedes charges here not too bad say compared to the uk but still i have now identified that there is a saving that can be made if i want.

Can't speak for Europe but here in the US DEF is easy to find and costs about $11 for 2.5 gallons.IIRC my Bluetec took about 5 gallons of DEF.

I just tank at my local filling station, about €0.55/litre

I had a diesel w212. I don’t recall how much it was to refill at the dealer, but one time I went in between services because I got the dash warning that my adblue level was getting low. I asked to buy enough to get me to the next service, as they are supposed to top off the tank. I was told they can’t sell it, because they don’t have jugs to sell, just a big tank of it. They told me to go check a gas station or truck stop and use any DEF. That was a surprise.

I suspect the option to fill at a station will become more available as adblue/def is fitted to more cars. But i shall do that in the future as there is a Total garage 15km away with the facility.
Just thankful mercedes use adblue and not eolys like many peugeot & citroen. That looks a nightmare to top up from what i have seen on YouTube with a tank under the floor requiring access from under the car. Still it last 80,000km+ as only a small amount is injected into the gasoil tank each time the car is filled up.
