Only a bug if not working as designed! Anyway, OP knows how to disable it now. :-)

No, it's not. It's called providing options for users with differing cell platforms.

Exactly. When one platform doesn't honor the NFC connection protocol but opens a wallet instead, it's nice that there's a way to put it out of its misery.

NFC has nothing to do with charging!! You can still charge with NFC turned off. NFC is a mode of data connection not charging.

A need for WHAT? Charging has completely, utterly nothing to do with charging.

That must be why iPhones open Apple Pay. They confuse wanting to charge your phone with wanting to charge something on your credit card.

Part of the issue is that when there are 2 vendors they both point fingers at each other. I spent a long time on the phone with Apple as I felt they should have setting on the shine and they say it's an MB bug/issue. Hopefully I can get my Command software updated at N/C so I get the option to uncheck NFC pairing. I just bought the car and it really doesn't need any service and I worry if I ask to just bring it in for that. Thanks.

If your car is still within the standard warranty, the dealer should update Comand for you at no charge.

Correct. And a system or Comand update is not an issue its just that an update. Software upgrades are necessary with practically everything now. So all you do is request one and assuming you have warranty its $0 out of pocket.
