Internet Access without using the HERMES module
Dears
my e200 car came with built in Communication Module HERMES, however, this service is not available in my country.
I found many articles about using internet settings to use my phone as a hotspot.
But it seems the internet settings menu under connections are not available since I have the Hermes module.
Is there a way to disable it and activate the Internet access settings instead?

If your phone supports rSAP (makes the car able to hijack the SIMcard in your phone) you can use internet using this SIM, your phone will lose connection (but phone calls will come in through the car) and to get internet on the phone you will have to connect it to the WiFi Hotspot in the car..
It might be that this depends on some options on the car.

That might be a good news for me, my car is MB w213, with COMAND online NTG5.5 with Hermes LTE module installed.
So which rSAP phone are you using? and do you have steps to do it?
or maybe rSAP recommended compatible phones with my car would help.
Thanks a lot bro

As long as your phone supports rSAP (and maybe you need the correct options on the car, I don't know about that)
When a phone supporting rSAP is paired it will loose the cellphone signals, to get in online you will need to connect it to the cars WiFi hotspot and it will actually use the cellphone SIM-card for this traffic..
My car has the following options related to phone, connectivity and hermes:
14U SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION PACKAGE
15U PRE-INSTALLATION SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION MB LINK
16U SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION CARPLAY
17U SMARTPHONE INTEGRATION GOOGLE AUTOMOTIVE LINK
274 TELEPHONE ANTENNA
362 HERMES - COMMUNICATION MODULE LTE
380 CAR TELEPHONY PACKAGE
PBG CONNECTIVITY PACKAGE PREMIUM
The SIM being used was the SIM in the phone.
Do your phone support rSAP ?

But how many users can log in via the hotspot at the same time?
With the MB hotspot you can have multiple simultaneously which is great for passengers with non SIM iPads.
You can use any phone as a hotspot (not using car system) but only one user at a time.

This is really easy. You will need a phone supporting rSAP, my current phone (Samsung Galaxy S9Plus) don't but my previous (Nexus 6P) did..

@78degrees - Could you share more steps on how to make this paring work with rSAP enabled phones? Like what needs to be done on the car side and what needs to be done on the phone side?

I have a US MY2019 W205 C-Class (C63S), and there is no option to control Wi-Fi in the COMAND settings. The only option is Wi-Fi hotspot and it only shows up after you go online and activate the subscription for it.
I'm not sure about the W213, but I presume it's similar. @78degrees - Are you located in the US as well?

Well, I have 3 snowmobiles, waiting for the fourth.
Snowmobiles are more fun. The AMG is mostly for use during my summer vacation as I'm taking it to the mainland for 3 months every year.

Assuming 78 degrees is correct (that is, 78 degrees latitude), he's pretty far from central Norway. More likely an island in the Svalbard archipelago, more northward than most of Greenland and all of Iceland. And if he's waiting until dark, he isn't getting much sleep tonight. ;-)
