Jack Points on our 213?

Got a flat today on the right rear run flat tire. Car is in my driveway, gotta take my floor jack to it tomorrow to remove the wheel and take it to the dealer. Where is the jack point? I think its about a foot ahead from the rear wheel and maybe 3 inches in or so? that's where it was on my 212. Cant really look under there as I'm in a wheelchair, but I can feel for it and maybe take a inspection mirror to it. Really appreciated having the run flats today, had to drive about 10 miles on a flat. Hopefully the tire will be warranteed as I bought it from a MB dealer in Sarasota last spring, but I dunno I think it was something in the road I hit and the dealer is auto nation and they do everything backwards, I think a regular benz dealer covers road hazard for 1 year at any other authorized mb dealer, but Auto Nation probably not, they do things their own way. Taking the wheel and tire to the Rhode Island MB dealer tomorrow.

This doesn't help get the wheel off but if it has a puncture that isn't in the sidewall area and isn't huge it can be plugged. A decent shop can do it quick and don't even have to take the tire off the wheel. I've had 2 RF tires fixed this way.

It's been driven flat though for maybe 15 miles or so. I think once the tire is driven flat it has to be replaced. It may be covered. I see at least now that when tires are purchased from a mercedes dealer like I did at the Sarasota dealer that there is a automatic road hazard warrantee and the tire is covered 100 percent the first year and 50 percent the second year. Unless this is something new since when I bought the tires last April. I called the Sarasota dealer and they said I didn't purchase the road hazard warrantee but It sounded like she did not know what she was talking about. I'll work on it tomorrow and get to the bottom of it. Maybe the automatic inclusive road hazard warrantee is a new policy and was not there last April. I think I payed around 1600 for all 4 tires installed. I hated the goodyear sport tires so much I took them off at 10K miles, could not take the bad ride of those anymore. I guess I'll probably just inflate the tire again and drive it to the dealer tomorrow afternoon, they may need the whole car there to honor the warrantee perhaps. I'll just inflate the tire before I leave like I did today from the dealer. It had just went to zero when I got home today. Before I got to the dealer I drove maybe 12 miles with it at zero.

So, new tires purchased from MB have a road hazard warranty? What about a new car (with new tires)? Are those covered too? For how long?

I've heard you can drive about 50 miles but whatever the tire manufacturer says would be best.

Ya maybe it is 50. I should be well under that when I get to the dealer. No road hazard on the tires that are on the car from the factory unless you buy the tire and wheel warranty. Only tires sold by mb dealers as replacement tires. Not sure how long it’s been going on but hopefully find out tomorrow. If you look on the website of any mb dealer in their tire store section it tells about. I’m not convinced I hit anything either. Might be a defective tire. The rear of the car had been vibrating for the past 1 k miles. I have the worst luck with tires and wheels.

The jack points are maybe 8-10" aft and for the front and back wheels. I would recommend you get jack pads to supplement your floor jack for a proper fit and safe lift. I purchased a set from Reverse Logic. As confirmation, I emailed fred-AT-reverselogic.us to validate the exact fitment for my C238 as a lift kit was required for the AMG skirting.

Yep I never use to have all these tire and wheel issues. One good thing is this might have solved my vibration issue. I noticed driving it practically flat no more vibration lol.

Original tires are not covered for road hazards. That said, my dealer has replaced flat tires at no cost compliments of MBUSA. IMO it is really up to the service manager at your dealer to arrange for such perks. I have a 30+ year relationship with the service personnel at the dealership.

Thanks for the info on the jack points. I guess I'll just drive the car down to the dealer on Sat, the tire is not coming in until 5 on Friday they say so they told me to come down Sat morning to get it installed. They do charge for mounting and balancing but the tire should be covered which is good news. Gotta be a defective tire, I noticed at times the rear the car was vibrating pretty bad the past couple of months, I was wondering what the heck was going on. When I bought the tires new in april I had a vibration after the Sarasota dealer put them and turned out they had to replace one back then too it was defective right from the start.

I've jacked and swapped my wheels from winters to summers and the jack points are easy to see (if you can get down there). I second the jack pad idea though. & Driving down over to Viti is the best idea.

I recall a bunch of Continental literature in my owners kit saying the factory tires did indeed have a road hazard warranty for a period. I'm not sure if that's what MB used when I took it in to gripe about the ride. But they did replaced a tire for no cost. (I was having some other warranty work done, so they may have felt they were making their buck.

On a better note- I just had it taken down to Viti for the 10K service. I actually shopped around prices a bit. $368 @ Warwick, but they had 10% off coupons. Similar up in Mass. Viti was @ $280 and of course they pick it up and leave a loaner, so I was pretty happy with that value.

Ya that's not a bad price. I'll do my 20K mile service when I get back to Sarasota in a couple of weeks as I bought the prepaid maintainence through them and I can only do it there as its a automation prepaid plan and not good at other dealers. The tire came in today so I'll just fill the tire back up tomorrow and get down there in the morning to have the tire replaced. Easier than taking it off myself. I'm pretty sure that tire was the vibration I've been feeling for about the past month so that would be good news if the car is smooth again after that tire is replaced. Getting really tired of dealing with tire issues though. Seems like it never ends. On my pickup truck with 18 inch Pirrelli P7's seems like I never have any problems.
