How do I reset oil service due message

I just did my first oil change on my 2018 E300 and I cannot figure out how to reset the oil service message. I have looked at the How to Do's on this site and on you tube and my Assist Plus does not look like any I have seen

Thanks for your help. I figured out that my problem was I was trying to hold the back button for 1.5 seconds and in my car I had to hold it for over 5 seconds to get to the workshop menu. I spent over an hour yesterday fiddling with those dang buttons going back in the house to look at another video and never getting to that menu. I thought I would need to go to the dealer to get it done. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!

Would you care to share the process you have taken so far? I have generally done my own basic maintenance on my vehicles, but this is my first Mercedes.

The Schedule A service looked like an over-priced oil change to me, with a bunch of “checks” of questionable value, but I’m cautious about taking it too lightly.

Did you find a reference on how to properly perform a Schedule A service, or did you just treat it like a normal oil change?

I agree, just an overpriced regular oil change. Take off the second underbody panel from the front bumper 8mm bolts, 13mm bolt is the drain size, I bought a crush washer but reused the one that was there and no leaks appeared on restart. The filter is under the air intake runner and engine cover, easy to remove. A 27mm or 1 1/16 inch socket fitting is on the filter housing. remove old filter replace the 3 O rings apply a oil coating to the rings, push the filter all the way into the housing and screw it down. 7 quarts of 0-40 Mobil 1 with a $5 off coupon from Mobil on the internet if you buy at Walmart this month. I bought my filter from the dealer so there is a record for warranty purposes, they charged me the same $17 price that the filters are for sale on ebay, it is a Mann brand so you do not need to buy a MB brand, but I do not want any issues if a warranty problem arises. So total $39 for 10 quarts of oil and $17 for filter = $56. Walmart wanted $8/quart in single quart cans so I bought 2 5 qt cans, figure the left over 3 quarts are costing $6 and I will use them next year.
I live in a dry climate in Denver so I think a 2 year brake flush is too aggressive and the cabin filter can wait also as I only put 5000/year on the car, I'll just do an oil change next year, probably will do a B service myself in 3 years.

Thanks for the detailed reply! I have filed it away for future reference. Did you figure out the mechanical aspects just by examining the car, or did you find a reference somewhere?

I generally just do fairly simple work, and one of my more ambitious projects was replacing the brakes and rotors on my previous car. My wife expressed concern that I might not know what I’m doing, but I assured her that I had watched MULTIPLE Youtube videos on the subject, so I’m good!

So you spent $56 for discounted supplies. For folks without a Walmart the cost of oil including tax far exceeds $56. Add the cost of filters, one of which you skipped plus labor and the cost is close to what the dealer charges for an A service. My last A service cost slightly more than $160. Perhaps your time is worthless, but mine is not. I didn't have a laundry or dry cleaning bill either. OTOH I'm sure you enjoy working on your car and that is worth something.

You got a better deal than me. I paid $238 for my last Schedule A service.

I think your last sentence is the key point. I would hope that anyone driving a new Mercedes is not doing their own maintenance out of strict financial necessity.

Personally, my dealer is almost an hour away, depending on traffic. So I'm looking at a good four hours of my time to bring it in for service. Once I know what I'm doing, I can do simple maintenance at home considerably faster than that. I'm not adverse to dirt or physical work, so I find it easier and more pleasant to do work myself, if I can. I also get the satisfaction of doing something that is outside of my normal skill set, and I like saving a few bucks, too.

If you are repulsed by getting oil on your clothes, then so be it. To each his own.

There is only 1 filter to replace on an A service, the oil filter. And Walmart will ship free in 2 days if you buy $35+ of stuff. I have been changing oil on my cars for 61 years, it is about the only thing a person can do now a days on a car that does not need a computer setup.Rotate tires, change air filters, bleed brakes,, change wiper blades are about all else you can do. I am retired, what else is there to do in an afternoon but change the oil in my 2 cars. My wife's Lexus RX is a lot easier as everything is right up front, don't have to ramp up the car or remove any aerodynamic plastic sheeting.

my dealer does specials for 100 oil changes, I take the car in when I have warranty issues as well. kill two birds with one stone. Also, I couldn't get the service message reset, took the car back and the buttons were bad and they replaced the whole left side buttons.

The cost vary by dealer. Around here (I live in the middle east) the dealer charges around 900$ for service A!!!!!

I definitely can spare a couple of hours of my time to save a grand.
Also no loaner is given.

A bit off topic but you guys are lucky in the U.S. for not getting screwed up by dealers

At no cost my dealer brings a loaner to my house, takes my car for service then returns it. It is done by appointment so there is no waiting for the dealer to arrive. It is part of their customer service.
