What's your loaner?

Just curious as to what people get for loaner cars these days. Do you get a nicer car, lower grade model, comparable, or what? I have a great relationship with my dealer but I always seem to get a very basic loaner car. My dealership is on the smaller side in relation to most dealers and they never have a problem giving me a vehicle but I was just curious to know what others end up in sometimes? Does your dealer try to put them into something comparable? If you are near the end of a lease or they want to get you to upgrade have they ever given you something nicer to try an entice you to trade? Has anyone liked their loaner so much they went and bought one?
My last loaner was a GLC 300 (I think) that actually impressed me as to how well it drove.

A smart, Class A or B. sometimes a small jeep (forgot the model) - I can choose, depending on availability
BUT... I pay 40 euro per day for it!

I was surprised to learn that my local dealer has a policy to put you in the same brand, but in a model a level or two below what you have. I say shocked because the dealer has a number a top brands (MB, Porsche, Alfa, Rolls, Jag, Range Rover, Maserati, Infinity), and I would think they'd want to tempt you with other brands. Other than Infinity, I'd be happy to try any of the others, even if a lower model.

I've had MB loaners sedans and SUVs from rock bottom C class through nice E class and S class sedans.
My last loaner was a base model S450 without many options.

Usually a c-class. Have had A-class, GLA but once the best was a GLS.

A GLS and an S class! Wow. I've never got past a c class, glk, or glc (Well, one time years ago I was given a Ford Taurus that smelled really bad that they had to rent from a local rental company). I was told they have some AMG loaners in coversation before, but I've never seen them or anything above the smaller cars. Maybe I'll try the bribe thing next time.
I always thought dealerships would try to give out a nicer car every now and then to entice us to trade up. Especially if they are paying attention and know when your current car is getting "long in the tooth."

I’ve typically gotten C-class. I recall my mother was given a GLE once.

Usually I get a C classfrom my dealer, but just last week a spanking new A220. A peppy little thing with MBUX. I enjoyed familiarizing myself with that, and look forward to it's inclusion in the E class. I prefer the command wheel the the overly sensitive MBUX touchpad that replaces it. Touch screen and voice command worked well though. Otherwise, I'm not sure how much appeal the A class will have. It's a super competitive segment.

Usually I would get a GLC, C or an E class. Whenever I get my E class serviced I tell them no CLA or GLA because I don’t fit in them (think 6’5 linebacker). I’ve been trying to get a 2020 GLE as a loaner because that is what I’m looking to get next but I guess they do not have them in their loaner fleets yet. I noticed Lokey in Clearwater has better loaner vehicles option wise and MB Tampa has more loaner inventory.

I've dealt with Lokey since the 1970's. They always take care of me beyond my expectations except for a short period (2002-2004) when their mechanics all seemed to retire at once and they had a batch of inexperienced new hires.

Never even gotten a loaner from my local mercedes dealer and an out of town dealer. Maybe its different in Sweden or I'm just being kinda screwed over, just been offered to rent a car when asking for a loaner...

Well my size helps I usually get an e-class, although my ml was in 1 time and they offered up a GLE... so seems they offer up a similar ride although they never offered an AMG : ) but then again i never asked.... Sarasota MB tends to treat me pretty decent....

So apparently no one has ever been so inclined to trade up or buy a new car after getting a loaner. I wonder if MB dealers are missing something here. I will say I did for a brief moment after getting the GLC last, and it drove so great, thinking about maybe upgrading to a little AMG GLC rocket. It then I knew I would miss my room and comfort.
Does anyone’s sales advisor meet them at the service center, follow up with them after a visit, or even follow up after the sale? I used to get Christmas cards and or birthday cards but apparently times have gotten hard lately.
In my dealerships defense I did get to meet every manager, company owner, and a few little gifts when we closed on the latest E class. So I’m not knocking them, just curious as to what kind of customer service others get before and after a sale.

my sales guy went from MB Tampa (where I got my E class from) and went to Crown so whenever I go to Crown for a wash I always look for him to say hi.

GLC, C 4 door, E class. Once I got a C class 2 door with some sports package, was really fun to drive. It has the grey wheels and thick steering wheel. The service person said the MSRP of it was close to a base model E class.

Best one was e450 coupe, white on white. beautiful. also, have had convertible c300's. Not a comfortable car, seat suck, suspension is very firm. but its fun!

EQE 500 4MATIC replacing EQC 4matic AMG line P
Normally an a or b class at no cost. This time whilst waiting for the Service Manager to finish with another customer I was looking at a e 300de hybrid in the showroom and one of the sales advisors who was involved in elements of my purchase came over for a chat and then lent me his car so i could try the diesel hybrid over an extended period ( mine was in for a service and a repaint on a previous bumper repair).
Very impressed with the hybrid and will probably consider it next time. Only thing holding me back is lack of 4matic.

They usually provide me with a GLC for a loaner. I totally hate them; they just seem pretty cheesy to me. Even after asking for another vehicle it's more of a downgrade to potentially a C.

Agree Sarasota MB has been great. Most of the time it is a E class. Last year though I did have one of those little SUV's which I was not all that crazy about.

Just had a really unimpressive GLA 250 as a loaner - expected better than that. :Lady that signs out the cars said they had almost none left, even though it was 7:30 in the morning - not sure where they all went, as I thought most came back in the evening as few cars stayed overnight for service. I was shocked to see a window sticker in the glove box for $40K for the GLA - that thing is a good advertisement for a CRV or a RAV$ for that kind of cash.
