Will inline six cylinder engine come in 2021 W213?
I rarely visit this forum, but it’s getting time to replace the wife’s 2016 E350 and I was hoping to get her one with the new Inline Six. Is that engine going to make it into the E Class sedans with the MY2021 face lift?

Thats what all the rumor mill sites say, the inline 6 with a mild hybrid similar to what's in the E53 now but probably detuned to around 380 hp or so. I guess nobody really knows for sure at this point.

If it gets the I6 (which I believe it will) it will be the same I6 that is in the CLS450, 362hp. Not 380hp.

362 hp plus 21 hp hybrid electric power = 383 hp. Zero to 60 in 4.5 seconds. The E450 Sedan V6 is Zero to 60 in 4.8 seconds.

That review also mentions the "Infuriating MBUX infotainment system". As I said elsewhere, MBUX is not getting good reviews generally.

That is not how the overall power is calculated. The EQ boost function serves as a filler to eliminate turbo lag, not total system power which is why the hp rating is 362hp, not 383hp.

Operationally, most reviews I have seen have been negative. Although I imagine it's just what you get used to. I'm sure the graphics will be improved, though.
