W213, Jerk/jolt on change down 3rd to 2nd

Hi, I’m new here. I’ve recently purchased a 2016 e220d W213. There is a noticibale jolt from 3rd to 2nd. It only happens about 5-10% of the time and in all drive modes. I’ve had it in with Mercedes twice. The first time they say they found a fault on the active brake system and reset it. This didn’t fix it. The second time they did a software update on the gearbox. It still isn’t fixed. It’s difficult for MB to know if it’s fixed as it doesn’t happen all the time as in a test drive. Has anyone here experienced this and is there a solution. Car is spot on other than this which is just an annoyance. Mileage is 35k.

When does it happen? The transmission downshifts during braking 100% of the time. I get smoother downshifts when I’m slowing from higher speeds and a bit more noticeable downshifts during slower speeds.

And the 3rd to 2nd is the most noticeable. I can’t say it’s a jolt, it’s not bad for me.

90% of the time it changes down perfectly, it doesn’t matter if I brake hard or easy. The jolt, which can be like standing hard on the brake for a split second, happens randomly

Ok so it’s the brakes not the transmission. Do you have the active lane assist package? Owners have had their brakes warped and prematurely worn because the system brakes constantly.

Take it back to the dealer they will have to open a ticket with MB Germany. Have the engineers diagnose it

Is the issue now resolved? What was the diagnosis? I have same issue where the car does sudden jerk at lower gear, I think once in a while. It drive smooth and without issues most of the time.
