Brake dust cleaner advice

I'm a little concerned after reading a few posts here about wheel brake dust cleaners. Any advice on a safe product to use? I have the E450 19" AMG twin spoke wheels.
Thx

use normal car wash soap should not be hard to get off when washing as long as you wash regularly

Here is how I clean wheels on my vehicles before washing the car:
Sounds long and drawn out but frankly I don't know if you can take any shortcuts if your brake dust ADD like I am...

.
I use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax spray on my car and wheels. Brake dust and other soil does not stick. A quick rinse with plain water is all it takes to keep the entire car looking good. Meguiar's also has a specific wheel & tire product. I've not tried it.

I use some cheap Mothers wheel cleaner. And soap and water. I find the brush works wonders vs product.

Well I called Mequiars today and their Hot Rims Tire and Wheel cleaner is just fine as long as the calipers aren't painted.

Thx all for your input

A good wax or ceramic coat does wonders on wheels as much as your paint job. I swap between winter and summer wheel sets and just do the deep clean when they’re off during the swap before they get put away. Then a quick detail coat as they go on.

very easy to keep clean & not too much sticks. Still needs an easy wipe with a microfiber and brush, but not much elbow.

You might find the Hot Rims cleaner a bit harsh to any wax or coating though.

I wipe down my wheels at least evert other day just to keep the brake dust from accumulating. I also keep a nice coat of paste wax on the entire rim. Works pretty well.

I use this, as well as the optimum no rinse wash and shine. OPtimum folks recommend using Power Clean as it's not as caustic as Hot ris

I'm firmly in the OCD camp when it comes to my wheels, only had my car since Monday and the weather has been awful. I managed to get the misses car done and since the foam cannon was out I foamed mine up with Autoglym Ice Blast and let it sit for 10mins before rinsing off (then it rained)..I gave the wheels a quick swiz with some Chemical Guys Clean Slate in a bucket. The car has done 18.5k on the clock, looking at the wheels I doubt they've ever been cleaned properly with the amount of baked on dust that lift just after 10mins.

It be a rim off job in the Spring or if we get some fine days over the winter months for a deep clean and sealant.

My old barge had 35k on it's replacement OEM rims, still as good as new
