Hi, anyone done it? Have you bought the part OEM or the one from this thread? https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...r-ionizer.html Is the ionizer included in the fragrance kit?

110 - you don't need it
190- fragrance testers set
Here is what you need for setup
170 - A2228900087
180 - A0019845729 x2
100 - A2228900100
150 - A2388000500
160 - A0029957277
10 - A2058350600
You will also need some wiring, but MB doesn't sell it, and only dealers have it, and some workshops who do Mercedes retrofit. This is not a big problem if a person who installs this kit knows how to do it and has manual for it.
That's awesome, thanks!

Why anyone would want to install the freshener as a retrofit given that it eats 30% of the glove compartment (it was standard on my 43) is beyond comprehension. I would gladly give mine away! Furthermore, the "fragrances" stink!

I'm mostly interested in the ionizer, that actually is a beneficial technology.Originally Posted by c4004matic

Because in my case after spec'ing out the American wife's E53 Coupe at just under 90k a year ago I still get constantly told that if I really loved her I would have ordered the smelly option too. I thought that the shouty exhaust was enough but I was wrong.Originally Posted by c4004matic

I recommend you experience current air balance functionality in a car before undertaking the time and expense to add it (If you haven't already...) It is so subtle and unreliable (it turns itself off constantly) - I'd pay to have it taken out of my GLE in order to reclaim the glove box space.
I have the Audi equivalent and while it's nice to have I don't think I'll be adding it to the Merc.

i only have it because (at the time) you could only have air suspension on UK models if it was combined with this option. Fragrances are OK but i soon discovered that my throat was always dry and i had had a cough after a long drive until i switched it off.... As per other comments its just takes up 1/3rd of my glovebox and doesn't add any value to my day

had it and was pointless. runs out really quickly and hard to tell whether its working or not. expensive to replace as well,

plus it didnt work in my car during the first year because there was a kink in the tube... dealership only went through the trouble of fixing it after it became known as a common problem... as they couldnt figure it out at first...
