Having only looked at MBs over the last year or less, I was unfamiliar with this style (above). I was awaiting information on the 2020 E350s, and saw one of the above sparkling in a neighbor's driveway. I was excited! First, because I (thought) I'd finally get to actually see a new 2020 model, because I did didn't know the new E350s were out yet, and because I preferred the styling of it (above) to the 2019s, especially in the tail light area. I had to stop and ask my neighbor about it, only to be told it was a used V6 (not the new I4 I thought it was).

Thanks for the video, even though i am trying hard to liking the new design, it is very bland and bubbly.. not very prestigious

No more MB:(
It's almost as if they are designing strictly for the Asian market?

Don't like it et all...

As many said the rear looks like a lot of other cars we see every day, but even the front looks sad to me, reminds me on the early 2000's Elantra's or so. I am not a huge fan of the current generation either as the proportions just don't seem right.. the previous generation 2016 and before had elegance and brand identity.

I think I'm the only one who cannot stand the W212 facelift....I just feel that the front and rear don't mesh well...I do like the preface lift W212....my favorite body styles of all E Classes are the W211 and W124. It's funny to read all the comments about the 213 rear end looking more "Asian." The same comments were said back in 09 for the then new W212.

I agree with you about the W212 facelift. The pre-facelift was far better looking in my opinion. Not really a fan of the W211, but W124 is the best designed E-Class, so far at least.

.
I never bought a W124 or a W212 because I did not like the exterior styling of either one.

I had a 2012 E wagon, and truth be told I really didn't care for the ponton style fender line. Then I got a 2019 E Wagon Luxury and think it is the superist looking wagon I can imagine. The 2021 looks like a lesser vehicle to me. Glad to have what I've got for a long long time, an that doesn't even reach the question of the all terrain trim. Yuck.

Some pictures of the facelifted E63. Front still looks somewhat handsome, but the back looks weak...

don't like the front changes either - look like frog eye design often used on mid 2000 car designs ...rear looks indistinguishable from Lexus, Honda etc

I definitely agree with you. I have a 2017 E and the fascia identity that it possesses on the road lets everyone know it's an E from far and even up close.

I am hoping with the next complete redesign they implement strict E Class identity. I believe it's hard to tell what anyone is driving now with these new models bc the design language is identical.

Do we think that they will still offer the “Luxury Styling” as on the pre-face lift model?

In cruising MBUSA's media room, it looks like they *might* have intentionally excluded the "Luxury" variant for the facelift. However, a quick inventory search across the US shows a decent number of MY20 Luxury models.

Regardless, below is what the facelift looks like. I sure hope we get it.

IMHO the Luxury Styling doesn’t save it. The back still looks enemic , as does the C pillar in particular. The shape of the grill opening looks forced and ungraceful . I hope the production models have a different grill opening for the luxury styling and MB does not try to use just one opening. The grill on the All Terrain is the worst of the three. Simply lifted from the SUVs.

While pre-production builds, these are production-intent representations. There will not be visual changes to what has now been launched prior to full series production.

I guess I will have to wait and see it in person, I remember when W212 first came out in 2009 I thought it looks horrible and even reminds me Hyundai,
but when I see one in the right color it's the best looking sedan I ever see.

wow, didnt know you can extend a lease by a full year. I knew they allowed month to month, if you are waiting for your next car to come in. The new C class might be out by then as well, should be much newer inside and out compared to the e facelift.

Are the three images you posted of the E with the Luxury Trim from the MB Media page or elsewhere? Thanks.

Global media room, indeed. The image drop associated with the not-Geneva digital launch.

I was afraid you were going to say that. The hexagonal opening with the inserted cross pieces looses all of the grace of the preceding design. What's next a spindle?
