W213 Chrome side trim retrofit (Avantgarde -> Elegance)

Dear All,

I am writing to find out whether any of you have successfully managed to retrofit (E.U.) Elegance style side and side/rear chrome elements to an Avantgarde trim E class - that I have just ordered? (W213 - MY2020 E.U. model).

There used to be an Avantgarde Sport version available in Europe... but it's not available anymore for new orders.

I would prefer an OEM solution but our dealer has told us that this retrofit option is not available - they probably just can't be bothered...

I have already found retrofit kits on Amazon (like the one set below), but once again I would prefer an OEM solution:
Stainless Steel Chrome Side Door Streamer kit Stainless Steel Chrome Side Door Streamer kit

Any ideas?

Any help is appreciated...

Is that photo aftermarket trim or an actual W213 OEM?

I honestly don't know. What I am trying to figure out if e.g. anyone here from a Mercedes dealership can find out if those chrome elements on the image above can be retrofitted to an E.U. Avantgarde (W213) models that come without it. There used to be an Avantgarde Sport model in the E.U. that came with those, but that trip level is discontinued... so had to order my W213 without it - but would like to retrofit them if possible....

but OEM parts only ... so i was wondering if anyone here knows about this and/or has the relevant OEM part numbers.

On 212 it was actually a different bumper for the trim version. The trim had tabs and locks to attach to bumper. The bumper without trim was of course without matching holes. Solved it by grinding down tabs and locks and used 3M double layered tape to attach it. The trim for doors was with double layered tape already. All OEM (expensive)

Not a fan, especially on a dark car. Wouldn't add the rear quarter panel regardless. It looks out of place.

And so... my question is... are these fixed with double side 3M tape(s) like the solution I linked above from that web store? The seller states that their product is made of high quality stainless steel and is fixed with double side 3M tape... or these are fixed there in another way?

I have no experience with these double side 3M tapes, but we can have quite cold winters in Europe - although less and less these days - ... how would these last with annual temp fluctuation between e.g. -20 to +40 C?

Also on the web configuratior it seems that the Avantgarde model also has space allocated for these chrome elements.... it's just not a factory option anymore...

The 3M tape won't be a problem. Almost all cars manufactured nowadays uses it to attach the various model and manufacturer emblems. The surface must be clean (no wax, oils) for installation but other than that it is pretty much a no brainer.

Original rear bumper chrome trims are 3M and clip to bumper, where Chinese ones are little bit shorter (about 5 cm), But they still add nice touch to the car.

Only differences from Avangarde sport package compared to regular Avantgarde are: extra chrome trims on front bumper ("fog") grills, blacked out mirror covers and chrome trim above exhaust tips, 18 zoll rims and rear windows are tinted.

I got mine 3M chrome trims for rear bumper from ebay and new front grills with chrome trims from dealer.

Good for you. We have the luxury trim with the side trim and it is a nice touch on the designo red body. All this fascination with black is not for me. I like a modest amount of sparkle.
