Is there no park on these cars
Front wheels, in a RWD vehicle, have no relevance or connection to the driveline, and can turn freely at all times if hydraulic brake pressure is not applied.
Same comment for front wheels in an AWD vehicle, provided it has an open (non-limited slip) front differential. Many examples of Mercedes 4MATIC have open front differentials. Please post your VIN to find out more about your particular 4MATIC version, if you have 4MATIC.
If my wheels were on I would put the car in park without the parking brake on and try to push the car, see if it moves.

And the reason it will be up on blocks all winter is for less stress on the air suspension. From what I have seen they can be problematic.

By turning one wheel, and in the presence of an open differential, there is no resistance to turning the wheel. Your vehicle is behaving normally and as designed, provided you do not have limited slip differentials. You have not provided information about your 4MATIC system or your. VIN, so the assumption at present is that you have open differentials, a common Mercedes installation.
as rraisley mentioned, the transmission is locked, which prevents two wheels on the same axle from turning.
