Burmester/amp

Hi everyone

Has anyone had any luck replacing just the amp in the 13 speaker burmester setup? Looking for a “cheap” fix for the strident sound and somewhat messy bass at high volume.

Thanks!

Try adjusting the sound to "forward" (driver), did wonders in my car.

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Seems like the sound is cleaner too with the surround function turned off as with it on messes with the stereo separation and makes the sound not like how it was meant to be heard when recorded.

I turned the focus to forward in the settings which massively helped the bass. I wouldnt attempt changing the amp but just install a subwoofer if you want better bass.

I have same experience.
Not only better musicality but also better (and more) bass.
As an audiophile I'm fully satisfied with the performance, but it require the Acoustic package to really makes the experience great.

That definitely helps the system sound more powerful, but the clarity (bass, midrange, treble) are all suboptimal. I was wondering if any aftermarket amps—or even a post 2018 oem burmester amp—would help. Basically looking for a cost effective way to improve sound quality.

Also i mentioned in another thread, the system in a 2020 loaner sounded noticeably better than that in my 2017. Someone indicated that the original burmester setup was only branded that way, but that its components were from a lesser known Polish company.
