It is all about matching the spare tire diameter with what is on your car. One must have a wheel with enough clearance as well.
Web sites such as tirerack.com and wheel-size.com are a big help with sizing, especially the wheel-size rim & tire size calculator.
Decided to go with Michelin AS3+ Non RFT
Purchased a refurbished MB
wheel ($350) that's matches mine currently on the car. I'll put one of the old run flats on it and use it as a spare tire if we decide to use the car to go to the East Coast of Fl or far out of Naples.
I'll just throw it in the trunk for those trips if I don't use my Audi instead.

Never read a review whereby the RFT rated better than a conventional equivalent model tire. The Goodyear’s on my wife’s E400 were horrible. The back end skidded on a right turn into a shopping center. Wasn’t even going fast. Much better handling on the AS3+. Ironic that using one old tire and a Matching MB rim was cheaper than the compact spare. And the new Michelin’s come with a 3 year free flat tire changing assistance service to come help you with a flat tire by putting the spare on the car or free towing up to 150 miles.
Sounds good to me.

Absolutely , I will never use run flat tires ever again. They are expensive, horrible ride comfort, wears out at much lower mileage and not very convenient. They only benefit the manufacturer not the customers
