Currently have the Goodyear Eagle Sport RFT on the car with under 13k mikes.
Tires are absolutely garbage. Back end slid around on a turn in the rain.
Debating whether to go with RFT's again. Ideally, I would rather put Michelin A/S 3 Sports on but I don't know if I want to deal with buying that spare tire & kit.
Any one have experience with the MICHELIN PRIMACY 3 ZP tires?

To be clear, despite having had a flat with my current tires, I would never go back to the RFTs. I've very happy with the ride and handling of my current tires. I do not have a spare, and I've decided against it for several reasons. First, I'm no spring chicken, and I would never try to change a tire on the road. I don't drive on rural highways where there's no other traffic for days or no cell coverage, so that's not a concern. I have the AAA's premium coverage, and my auto insurance also provides roadside assistance, as does Mercedes. I do have a can of inflator stuff in my trunk, and an electric tire pump. I don't want to give up trunk space for a spare tire. And lastly I've had a grand total of only 2 or 3 flats in nearly a million miles of driving over the past 50+ years. Screw RFTs!

I replaced the RFTs for conventional Pirelli Cinturato P7 AS tires. I also bought a spare. The reason for the spare is that if I get a flat, the road service responder can change the tire and I'll be on my way. In over 60 years of driving I've had at least 1 flat per year including my 2018 E300 (2 flats) that has never left the city limits. I posted pics of the spare in the trunk in another thread. It takes very little room. There is still room for a suitcase and golf clubs.

FWIW use inflator goo only as a last resort because it will ruin pressure sensors and is difficult to remove from the wheel.

I am going to call the MB parts online that I got from a previous thread to purchase the compact spare for around $380. Assuming they have it, I will then purchase the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 from Costco on sale and use the spare if taking the car on long trips.
Did you have to purchase different lug nuts for the spare? If so, do you have the part#?

No, I purchased the MB spare that matched the VIN. The wheel hub area is the same thickness as my AMG wheels.

The Michelin RFT on my coupe, rear tires are $450. I've replaced both. If I buy this car (leasing) which I am seriously thinking about given the new designs MB is putting out, I will switch to conventional tires and throw a spare in the trunk. My .02.

If it's comfort you are after, depending on your rim size (<20), you can go for a different line of RFT (Primacy or Cinturato) that is more comfort/touring oriented rather than the "performance" centred Goodyear Eagle.

If it's peak performance, ditch RFT.

Whatever you do don’t get them from anywhere else but a MB dealer. Any issues with the car handling they will blame the tires since it’s not from them. I had issues with the car shimming at speeds above 50-60 MPH. 1st they said it was the aftermarket rims I purchased from Costco.

Replaced them with the OEM rims. Then they said it was the rotors. Paid over $800 and still had the issue. Then they said it was the Costco tires. I then had to replace with 4 tires from them for over $1200. Issues are not gone, so now I asked what now.

Some dealers say the part #213-400-06-00 will fit. Others say they are not sure. It's blacked out on their computers. One says I need to order the bag with it. And that's stated with as asterisk on the tire part. Must order bag. That's $144.

I purchased part 213-400-06-00 from my dealer as a spare for my 245/45R18 tires. It is a 19" rim with a 155/70-19 tire. It has the same diameter as the 18's. It is important to match the spare tire diameter and revs/mile with the existing tires.

Standard tools and jack from Walmart (<$50) will work.

Your tires have a diameter of 26.7" that is the same as the 245/45R18 and the 155/70R19.

Costco will not install any tires on the E400 with AMG rims. They said they have had problems installing tires with the AMG rims (which I have).
Nonsense.
Tired of this crap. Just may get the Michelin Primacy 3 ZP and be done with this.

Have you tried Tire Kingdom or Tire Rack + a TR recommended local installer? I've used both with great results.
Were you trying to buy the discontinued Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 or the replacement Pilot Sport A/S 3+?

Tire Rack. A recommended installer from their site will do it.
But NO dealer I spoke to will confirm that the compact tire will fit. Bonita Springs sent an email up to MB HQ in Atlanta to find out.
They do not make it easy. As I said earlier, 1 MB dealer saw it on their parts site and part # was blacked out for my car. Another had an asterisk next to it saying I had to purchase the tire cover with it for another $144. I'm not doing that.
Another one said even though on their on line parts website it shows it will fit my car, she won't confirm it either.
I'm not going to take a chance unless I get a definite answer and if I have to buy that cover, I won't do it.
It's funny that the shipping for the tire and tool kit is around $35 (and dealers can't even confirm that's correct) and if I add the tire cover, shipping is $200.
The tires I have are 245/40 r19.
Next car, no RFT's and if it's comes with it, will tell dealer tol switch them and supply me with a compact spare as well.
I'm not going through this again.
This has become a PITA.

I bought my spare from the dealer. It was expensive, but no shipping charges. It was returnable if it didn't fit.

Perhaps you can buy it from your dealer after they try it on your car. (extra labor cost)

They're not in stock locally. They have 200 in Germany according to one dealer. I'll wait until tomorrow to hear from the dealer in Bonita.

My dealer said the same thing, but the spare arrived in 2 days. They said another dealer had one. (or air freight works.)

Just received response from dealer who kicked up this matter to MB USA HQ in Atlanta."Checking email response right now.... Benz says "NO" to that spare wheel/tire for your vehicle. I wish I had better news."

I’m getting Non- Run flats when mine wear out. I have a 12v air pump ready to use if I get a flat. If I get a big blow out, we’ll then I’m SOL. I’ll take the chance.

What a terrible state of affairs and so unnecessary. Regular tires worked just fine. You had a compact/temporary spare in the trunk. Everybody was happy. Then the mfgrs went to RTF and even worse the goo. Now people dread being out of sight of a tire shop. I have had two tires fail completely over the years and if I had not had a spare I would have sat beside the edge of the road for hours. If only the manufactures made space for a spare I would be happy to pay the cost.

It is all about matching the spare tire diameter with what is on your car. One must have a wheel with enough clearance as well.
Web sites such as tirerack.com and wheel-size.com are a big help with sizing, especially the wheel-size rim & tire size calculator.
