Hermes Module
I have a couple of questions about the Hermes module -
I have a manual for version 2.0. How can I determine the version that's in my car?
Hermes uses VOIP to communicate. How can I determine the IP address and the phone number?
For those who are interested the Hermes 2.0 manual is attached.

Just curious, what are you hoping to accomplish with that information? VoIP is a voice protocol and the Hermes module is not used to make phone calls. It doesn't ever get provisioned for voice service, so I'm not sure where VoIP would factor in here. If you activate the Wi-Fi hotspot, the carrier assigns a phone number for the purpose of managing the line and they'll usually email you the phone number or you can find it out by logging in to your account. This phone number cannot be used to make voice calls, though. As for the IP address, once your Wi-Fi hotspot is active you can connect your laptop or phone and visit one of the many sites that tell you your IP address, but it's most likely a dynamic IP address and changes over time. I believe, though the HERMES module uses different eSIMs for the Mercedes Me services vs the Wi-Fi hotspot, because they are billed separately and independently. For example in the latest 2019+ models, the Wi-Fi hotspot is managed via AT&T's connected vehicle site, whereas the Mercedes Me stuff is managed through the Mercedes Me portal.

The Hermes module doe indeed use VOIP for functions that are activated by the buttons over the rear view mirror - Info, SOS, roadside assistance. Those numbers are coded in the module.
As a retired networking expert I would like to explore the capabilities of directly accessing the vehicle via its IP over wifi and/or VOIP. I'm not interested in using connection to go from the car to the internet, but in the other direction - internet to car.

Ah, I forgot about the SOS etc. features. I would think though, that it is unlikely the car has a public phone number. I would guess that the calls are probably routed through a private SIP server and I would expect the car rejects incoming IP connections for security reasons.

Security is what I'm trying to probe but without the sophisticated tools I had before I retired. Most vehicles have little or no security. They rely on privacy.
Here are some of the hard coded phone numbers -

I wish there's a feasible solution to this problem, I wish it had a normal SIM card that can be easily with any service providers.

Very interesting subject as I have a W213 Y2018 Command 5*5, with LTE module and as I learned from the manual that the only way to connect to the internet is through Mercedes me but unfortunately, I don't have Mercedes me services in my country.

Bluetooth tethering is not rSAP.
rSAP also has a bluetooth connection but only for giving the car access to the SIM-card in your phone. Your phone will say it's missing a SIM-card while rSAP is used.
By using rSAP the car will use it's own antenna while your phone can connect to internet through the hotspot in the car.
I'm not 100% sure about what options you need..
These are some of the options on my car who I guess can be a must to get rSAP working. I know for sure that the Telephone Antenna is 100% necessary to get rSAP working.

I thought that Bluetooth rSAP is same as tethering.
I do have ;14U,15U,274.
and 899 multi function telephony; wireless charging and connection via Bluetooth.
I guess I will try to activate rSAP from my phone first.
Thanks.
