"device not supported" huh ?
I downloaded some music from the iMac to a SDcard. The MY19 E 450 played it just fine. Then I downloaded some more to a thumb drive, plugged it into one of the USB ports in the center console and I got the message, "device not supported." What did I do wrong this time. I never got a message like that from a CD drive. Thanks.

I believe the thumb drive has to be formatted "FAT32" for the system to recognize it. I think SD cards are already so formatted.
EDIT: correcting to note "exFAT" formatting as desired for it to function.

Thank you both. The music is on the computer in iMusic. I just copied it to the storage devices without paying attention to formatting. I guess I should stick to SD cards.

I want to correct what I wrote earlier. Per this thread... https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...e-sd-card.html
... the file structure needed is "exFAT" as others have mentioned. SDXC cards are formatted exFAT as their default. I have more than 40GB of songs on one of these cards and all are found by the system.

Sorry to be back. I do not know how to format a thumb drive in exFat or anything else. I have queried two product concierges at two different dealerships and the response was, “No idea.”
With the disappearance of CD drives, I can’t believe I am alone in this. Our computer environment is MAC.
Could someone point me in the right direction. We will be heading cross country next month and I don’t want to be stuck listening to Sirius.
Thank you.

This is how it works in Windows. I imagine there is something equivalent for MAC OSs.
Insert the desired SD or thumb drive in your desktop computer. Using your file explorer (or equivalent MAC program), find and highlight the drive. Click Right Arrow, then scroll to "Format." Picking that, it should ask you what file format you want to use. Pick exFAT from that dropdown, and proceed. If unsure, click cancel.
It will erase everything on the drive, so best to use a new SD or Thumb Drive, or one where you don't care if all data is erased.
Someone with a Mac can offer any differences... Hopefully Mac OSs offer "exFAT" file formats...

Search/Use "Disk Utility" program and select exfat format. It is a simple as that. For help with media stuff ask someone at your electronics store. MB electronic gadget tech help is non-existent.

DFW, and UA. Thank you. Great advice and comment. My 450 is loaded to the gills. There is more tech than I can master. But part of the situation is that the help is so inadequate. I have yet to meet the Benz employee who has the fortitude to demonstrate the parking assist.

Not much need for parallel parking here in TX. But I use perdendicular parking assist often. Just watch the cameras and directions in the dash and go slow... keep your brake foot perched over the brake in case it's needed.
