Center Console Cupholder/Cubby Cover Won't Shut
My center console cupholder/cubby cover won't stay shut. A shiny metal L-shaped pin popped off of the interior hinge area...it looks like a modified paper clip. I am not sure how to get it back to where it came from, unfortunately, because I think that would fix the problem.
Does anyone have any experience tinkering with the center console cover mechanism? To be more clear, this is not the armrest...I am talking about where the NFC charger and cupholders are.
If not, I will have to get a new cover/hinge mechanism under warranty at my 1-year service.
Thanks!

The IWC can be bought as an adon... to be honest its just for looks... its just as much plastic as the standard mercedes one and manufactured in Asia...
I have one with yellow dials(rare) added to my 220d.
regarding the question from OP - just take the whole console out(discribed how to do it in one of the center console replacement threads) once its out you can detach the piece and its locking mechanism is easily revealed as its is on the outside of the actual piece

The fix was covered under warranty, no charge. The service notes explain that they removed the console and re-installed the pin (as JakeW213 suggested above). No new parts. Unfortunately they didn't allocate any labor hours, so it's hard to deduce how much it would have cost out of warranty.
