Button on dash.

Hello dear friends.
Why does this button light up every time I turn on the car? Then after about 10 minutes of driving, it goes out.
It's never been on before.
I read that it is heat for the cabin.
But I have not turned it on.
And when I come, it's still cold in the cabin.

What is its function actually?

Because it's not something I turn on myself.

i don't have this but i googled it and it seems to be this:

https://moba.i.daimler.com/markets/e...a31-en-GB.html

however if i understand correctly, if it's on when you enter the car, it means that the heating has been programmed (?)

That is the Auxilary/Parking heater, you can start it by pushing the button or programing a time in the menu the remote (accessorie) or by the Me-app on your phone.
It starts automaticly in low temperatures to heat the car/cabin quicker.

Thanks for the help.

Yes I have understood that it is parking heaters.
But what I find strange is that it always lights up when I start the car. Eventhough I myself have not put it on.
Should it do that?
I do not want it to drain the battery.

Yes I have.
I have no timer on in the cars command nor in my mercedes me app.
It is disable.
I really do not understand why the button is lighting up every time I turn on the car.
Here in Sweden it is currently 7 degrees.

I have not been to my Mercedes dealer. I Will go to service soon, maybe i can ask there.
It has never done so before, it started doing so now that it's a little colder outside.
That's why I first wanted to check here on the forum if it's not usually so.

Yes I have a warranty left.

So you mean it starts automatically even if I have not turned it on.
Because I have it disabled and have no timer set.
Just think it's weird that it should be on every time I turn on the car, because then the fans are already on when I drive away. So whats the point? It will just drain the battery?

Yes!

With "SYNC" on, both driver and passenger zones are unified. Same setting apply to both zones. With it off, each controls their own zone.

Is the Stationary Heating / Stationary Ventilation feature even available on US cars? I've never seen it.

Mvh
Stefan.

So your question may be answered and makes sense coinciding with colder temperatures, easily confirmed when you’re in for service soon.
