can I change heated Front Seats to Ventilated!

Hi guys,
my car has only heated front seat with no ventilation. Is it possible to replace the features? or does this require new system?

2018 S560 and 2019 E450 Wagon.
Anythings possible but it would cost a bundle. Not really worth it IMO as the ventilated seats don't do much anyhow. I do regret not getting Multicontour ventilated messaging seats myself as I just MB tex with heated but it is what it is .. it was a in stock lot car and it seems like a wagon that loaded almost needs to be special order.

in saudi the weather during summer is usually between 45-50C during the day and around 35-40C during the night! so I am thinking of it as an option. still not searching for how much it will cost me!!

You can retrofit the A/C seat and keep the heated one.

I wonder how much it will cost! or if it needs any more modification in the seats itself ...
if it is going to make huge dent in my wallet I'll just sacrifice burning my a$$ lol

The seats must have vent holes in the surface. MB only offered it in leather. If you don't have leather you'll need to recover your seats.

Each seat has a 3 speed fan in it. The seats must be punched if they are not already. You'll need the control panel that fits in each door. The image is from the driver's door.

i think you should try one out. There are many complaints as they are not air conditioned seats, they are just ventilated. there is just a fan that blows the same air that is in the cabin right back.

The seats keep me cooler. They blow the cooler air from the floor through the seat bottom.

Really?

With the AC on, most of the cooled air is coming from the vents in the dashboard blowing horizontally. Unless I direct the air to my feet, I feel little to any cool air down there.

Bit if you think the air 8 to 10 inches higher than the floor is cooler than the air 4 inches above it on the seat and that makes you feel cool I am happy for you.

As for me, I have a Ford Edge Sport with seat cooling: Cool AC air comes through the seat and that does make a difference!

They are really worthless, the only time they add any coolness is early in the morning when the car is already cold.

Every Benz I've had with cooled seats have been disappointing. On my CLK550 I took the driver's seat apart and replaced the fans with new fans with 3 times the CFM in the same size - the difference was marginal and the extra noise made it not worth the trouble.

I would not bother if I were you...

One can set the vents however they want. I have mine set to floor level because my wife doesn't like air blowing on her. Floor level air is 10° cooler than face level air. I have the acoustic comfort package that add insulation to the floor.

From what I have been told, as long as you have heated seats, you just need to have extra hose to connect your AC to your seats.
But it sure will cost a lot in the States. labor itself is pricey.

So, as far I read from your comments, that it can be done since there is heated seats without replacing the entire seats. for saudi weather , heated seats are useless lol! even in winter it doesn't go below 0 C so no need for it!

But since it is ventilated, and some of you say it will not do any cooling or it doesn't worth it. Does anyone here live in hot place in US like (texsas, florida, or california where temp is almost similar to saudi or GCC area like between 40-50C in summer)? and have the ventilation option to give us his experience ?
I am trying to see the pros and cons of adding it and if it really worth adding as cost vs benefit!

I have the vent seats, Im located in Asia, yes i know it only blows air, not AC but i do feel cold air from my butt and back.
it worth to have this option if you are in hot areas.

I'm in coastal Florida. I keep A/C airflow out the floor vents so the seat fan picks up cooler air. I wear shorts except for a few days in January. I can feel the cool air on the back of my legs. That keeps them from getting sweaty and sticking to the seats. I wouldn't have a car without ventilated seats.

No more MB:(
You could theoretically install seats with fans in them with a separate switch on the seat itself. Trying to make a factory level project would likely be cost prohibitive.

As for the actual benefit, I've had them since 2003 when I could and always found the cooling feature to be somewhat beneficial. If you keep the windows up and run the AC into the rear cabin it makes difference as all they really do is re-circulate the air, so if the air in the rear of the seat is cold enough you will feel the difference. Overall still better than not having them. For me it's a must, keeps the back of my shirts from sticking to the seatback in the summer.

Try to find used seats with the fans and install your own switches on them is the easiest way to go. That way you know they looks like stock seats and you don’t need to have the switches on the doors added.

Three workshops replied back,
first one refused to do it,
the remaining two one of them said to order new seats and the other said it needs a month of work and the cost might be between 3k-5k USD so I am gonna sacrifice my a$$ and it can handle the heat!
