Interior of New E450

Interior of New E450
Been an Audi driver for years (always with really nice real leather interiors in all black). Now I’m excited to be purchasing my first Mercedes—a 2021 E450 pretty darn fully loaded, including the ventilated massage seats (the one request of my wife, who is very supportive of this purchase). I have now placed an order for a car to be built in February. I’m assuming I can still make changes (correct me if I’m wrong about that), and the one thing I am still struggling with is the interior color. Currently, I have on order the macchiato beige and black standard leather, with black headliner. I picked that after seeing and really loving an E53 interior with that color combo—but in beautiful nappa leather and with a stitched dash. That specific combo is not available in nappa in the E450–it’s only available in the standard leather (and without an MB Tex topstitched dash). The closest nappa combo for the E450 is macchiato beige and magma grey, with a macchiato grey headliner and available grey topstitched dash. But that seems like it would be too light of an interior as a whole. Of course, I could also go with the all black nappa and MB Tex dash (I don’t like the nut brown at all). So I know I’m probably overthinking this (it’s even caused me to think about getting the E53 in large part to get that interior) and I realize this is a personal decision, but do any of you have any thoughts? Will I miss the MB Tex dash (which to me looks classier)? Am I right that the beige and grey with beige headliner is awfully light? Is the nappa a lot nicer than the standard leather? Thanks in advance for any input (and sorry for the length of this post).

Can't truly say it's that much nicer than the standard leather particularly at the $4,900 cost of the upgrade, but the optional P62 designo Black/Grey Titanium Pearl Nappa leather is what sold us (by comparison to other E450s 4Matic wagons we'd looked at) when we were shopping and IMO, works very well with the optional designo White Diamond metallic exterior. Ours was a Dealer ordered car of which we purchased on their lot at the end of the season (Oct 2019) and were able to negotiate to an acceptable purchase price well below its MSRP.

To me, the MB Exclusive Nappa interiors are a bargain and worth every penny. They are just SO luxurious and rival Bentley interiors. The only downside is the ridiculously small number of color choices, IF ANY! I have the Exclusive Nappa interior in my E450 Wagon and just love it, but wish they had made the carpets in the saddle color, not the beige. I cured that problem by going with dark colored mats.

Napa leather is worth the upgrade in price, however the standard leather is still plenty nice, however I would pair it with a "stitched" dash as it looks quite plain/cheap without it. I actually prefer a lighter headliner, really brightens up the interior, a dark black interior can feel like a coffin.

I actually like the black headliner because it cuts down the reflections from the Macchiano Beige seats. I have all Macchiano Beige standard leather interior, not the Nappa leather combination. If they had the grey/beige combination in 2018 I would have bought it to go with the Selenite grey exterior.

Thanks
Thanks for all the input so far. I actually want a black headliner. But I understand that’s not an option on the 450 with the nappa macchiato interior. Nor is a top stitched dash available with the regular leather. So strange. So it’s down to what I have—the color combo I like best in regular leather, without the stitched dash, or the beige and grey nappa with grey stitched dash and beige headliner, or my old standby—all black (nappa). I guess I’m still confused about my decision. But thanks again.

Another Question
Since you are all being so helpful (and I welcome more responses to my original interior questions), I’m going to throw out another one: spoiler, yes or no? I was going to skip it,but am also second guessing that. I’m sure decisive, aren’t I.

I think the stitched dash and doors are well worth the nappa leather, even if it’s gray not black. It’s a significant upgrade imo.
