Does anyone know how many total speakers the current E class Sedan has and aside from the doors, where are the other speakers located and what size are they if you know.

The VIN doesn’t denote where the speaker positions are.

It denotes what system you have and in turn EPC shows what's installed in the vehicle per diagram once you have part #s you can search sizes, compatible aftermarket, etc.

Looks like 13 speakers without 3D system. Just changing out the speakers alone probably won't do much though as the amps need to be upgraded too to get better sounds.

Good find. Now if someone could explain or comment on the cost and performance of the Burmeister 3D sound system that would be nice. Its too late for the 2019 I have now, but maybe next time. I expect it is one of the more rare options given the cost. Speaking of options here is not the place, but I would like to learn about non-USA options that are available in other countries, like the electric trailer hitch, and the intelligent LED system.

I have the 3D sound system in my E450 Sedan and absolutely love it! I have a custom stereo in my Corvette built and installed by Reus Audio (you California guys might know of them) and compare all other stereos to it. The E450 3D system actually sounds better.

Next time. There is nothing more excruciating that a couple of thousand miles across country with an inadequate sound systemI. It will drive you buggy. An unending frustration. The standard MB Burmeister system is adequate, but not more than tha. I am glad to know you think the 3D system is worthwhile.

3D is worth it if you enjoy a good sound system. I just bought a 2018 CPO S560 2 months ago and really am enjoying the 3D audio. Great sounding. 6400 Dollar option so not cheap.

I've read threads about it on these forums, the consensus is that if you replace your speakers you gotta do a amp too for more power as the weak power of the stock system will make things sound worse with aftermarket speakers.

not true. Upgrading front sound stage and adding caps and inductors to clean up the sound to the rest of the speakers does tons.

I think the Burmester, even without 3D, is a pretty good system.

I agree. The Burmester without 3D vs the normal horrid black mesh system is day and night. I did get a C200 with a non Burmester system as a loaner and it was absolutely crap.
I can only imagine how good the 3D system would be.

Sorry for the offtopic, but what does it need to change the basic black non burmester system with middle version. I mean Burmester system but without 3D. Can someone take me a hand ?

I don't think its simple as just swapping out the speakers. You will also need to swap out the amp as well as be able to reprogram your Command system to activate the menu.
Have a look at this. Unfortunately, this guy is based in Singapore.

That is one thing I hate about my car, the standard sound/ black mesh is crap.

Well, i though it may need to change the amp too. But if it's possible to change it without new wires and so on, so it's not so hard to be done. But the price may be unpleasant. I have DAS so reprograming is not a problem if i don't have to go to my Stealer for online coding. I will try to find second hand amp and speakers from crashed cars here in Europe, but i don't know the part numbers, so can anyone help me with this ? What parts i need to go up from standard to Burmester system ?
