Has anyone ordered this model yet as it's brand new for 2021?

Ordered a coupe over the weekend. Update: Order cancelled by MB because they ran out of red paint. Changed order to a 2022. Anyone mention COVID sucks? Lol

Do a search. There are some on this forum. I think some have had battery problems.

I now have 3400 miles on the 2021 E450 I picked up last November. Absolutely no issues.

I bought a 2021 E450 at the end of December. I have about 2500 miles on it. The only issue I have had so far is the black trim around the windows (night package) has already oxidized. I used some Chemical Guys butter wet wax and Jet Seal and it looks pretty good. Part of the ambient lighting did not get plugged in from the factory, but that was fixed in a few minutes. No mechanical issues so far.

Was it the top row of lights above the cluster screen? Was it actually unplugged or was it a software update? Do you mind sharing the details of the work order so I can present it to my dealer as well?

It was half of the section above the center console. It was never plugged in at the factory. The dealership plugged the harness in. I have attached a picture and circled the portion that was not lit up until plugged in.

E450 All Terrain 2021
Just took delivery of the E450 All Terrain yesterday with the 48V system. So far the advantages are that the start stop system is much smoother than any other car I've driven, and that the air conditioning stays on while stopped. The only downside is that sometimes it's really hard to tell if the engine is on or off Not too sure about the long term reliability, but time will tell.

Don’t know about the E450, but on my Acura MDX hybrid, I can creep in stop and go traffic. Or in a drive thru with the engine off. I tell by looking at the tach.

48V has had serious issues. Search the forum, extensive comments. Hit or miss.

No problems yet at 44k miles on our '19 E53, at least with the mild hybrid system.

First out in the 2019 E53's after ROW S-classes in 2018.

I haven't any chatter at all about issues with 48v system.

Worst electrical problem so far is losing internet apps connectivity when the free internet timed out and the dealer can't get full functionality working after 1.5 weeks.

Of the nice features of the 48V system is the seamless start-stop. The GLB250 loaner shows how much better 48 volts are over 12 volts.

GLE and GLS forum. Lots of issues there. Maybe it's an Alabama thing?

I don't remember the nickname but certainly remember the issues and reputation. Seems like the new GLE not much different.

I've heard of a couple of early E53's disliking the occupant's choice of cabin temp (they caught on fire) and have read of GLE/GLS concerns. Will be interesting to follow the facelift E's and CLS models.

I was speaking to a MB tech on Sat when my car was in and he said he is seeing that increasingly on the 2021 models and thinks its due to heavy chemical car wash detergent that is impacting the trim pieces. He thought the materials for the trim pieces for the 2021 are the problem. Maybe change your car wash detergent and see if that has an impact.
