Anyone else waiting on parts from Germany?
Hi all, looking for some help. I was rear ended in December, and when the car was taken from the body shop to the dealer, they had to put a new airbag control module in.
Part number 213-900-87-28 - which replaced 213-900-43-25. The dealer has had the car since February 10th and yesterday told me that it was delayed again, this time until May. It is on back order with no actual date of shipment. The dealer does not seem to care, and neither does MBUSA. They have "escalated it to the highest level". Anyone else having an issue with parts coming from Germany?

In June of 2020 my driver' airbag developed a fault code necessitating replacement under warranty,
It too was escalated to MBUSA and just this month a replacement came in (8 months). My car even failed state inspection while waiting.
It's not what you're going to want to hear but you're going to have to be patient. They DO care however factories were closed for 3 months due to COVID.
MBUSA and the dealer remained in contact with me the entire time. It's a real international problem.
Good luck and keep up posted.

mine has been at the dealership for over a month, and because the other driver did not have insurance, I used mine. I don’t have unlimited rental coverage and the dealership has not updated me at all, I have had to call or even come in there to get updates.

Was the part you were waiting on one that you could drive the car while waiting for it to come in?

Parts are in Germany Delayed until May
Well I have news for you it doesn't take that long to build a car. The fact that Mercedes is not stocking the correct amount of parts to supply its own vehicles should not be our problem, and isn't. You paid for a service as in a warranty that you currently are not getting because the parent didn't provide you with the service you are told you would get. "The Best or Nothing" Well folks its nothing, My car is in the shop and won't be fixed until May, and they won't give me a loaner or asked if I would like a discounted rental. Or even explain they will extend the warranty for the additional months they have my vehicle. NOTHING.
They also had the ***** to tell my young wife with 2 children the car is drivable. In 20 degree weather with no heat at all, the car its drivable (Real Safe, thanks Mercedes), ready for this Mercedes Corp. was stupid enough to put it in an email. They're not smart people you're dealing with here. The fact I dropped an extra 6 grand on the extended warranty just so I didn't have to deal with this is a joke. I can tell you I am in my last Mercedes ever. And I was buying their new electric ....
Thank god for Tesla.....

Like I should have known that an uninsured motorist would hit me and I would need rental car coverage for months because a part would fail upon re-calibration and that module wouldn’t be available for months.
Are you *******g kidding me? Did he think I just fell off the turnip truck? I’m certainly not purchasing another MB.

The GM at the dealership avoided my call this week and his assistant had the ***** to tell me today that it was my fault that I didn’t purchase the right kind of insurance that would cover a rental for an indefinite amount of time.

personally, I would contact a local tv station and make public the issue. That sometimes gets results.

Officially 6 months for me I have been in 3 different rental cars and I can honestly say I don't even want the car back.
I'm sure the battery is dead and the rotors are probably rusted from all that just sitting on their parking lot.
Will be selling it soon as I can get it back.

Stopped at my local dealership to get a wiper blade. Service advisor says they are waiting on lots of parts from Germany. Hardly any loaners since they are selling them to make money as inventory is low. Perfect storm.

wow 6 months.. is it a leased or bought? I’m planning on doing the same, selling it back as soon as it’s fixed. I’ve only had it for 6 months, my app keeps sending me dead battery notifications. I call them every Monday and they keep saying “no updates, call back next week” if they would tell me exactly where the part is I would fly to that country and get it, much cheaper then paying for my rentals.

Its a pretty sad state of affair when one cannot even buy a set of wiper blade from the dealer.

I only waited a month for a parking sensor bracket. A $25 part. I have an extra one now. I ordered one myself. It came from Germany.
