Hi,

i cant get any connection possible via Wifi in my car with the Comand system .. i have no SOS or HERMES modul installed in my car
It doesnt matter what i use - smartphone hotspot, wifi from home .. comand system is still telling me offline and when i try to use the browser or internet radio
it tries to connect and the message is only that there is no internet connection available with this wifi network ... even without wifi encryption enabled
but its still connected with the wifi router .. (i can see that on the router webpage)

Can anyone help me with that issue?

the comand software version is 00.59xxx

dealer told me there are no updates available without looking into the system

 

To get wifi in the car you need to pay a carrier for the service. You cannot use your phone or any other thing that can share wifi.

only a paid service for the car... it already has a sim installed(that you cannot change) so pay and it will work.

I have software version 05.80.00.00 its the newest I could get per 11th of december 2020

i looked for this under the mid console
there is only the headunit

i have no carrier connection or Mercedes me

 

You cannot connect to anything without a Hermes module. Period.
Bluetooth, WiFi and cellular connections are each controlled by the Hermes module

 

That is not true (see picture)

The function is available when a hermes modul is not installed

and I can see my wifi network via comand

 

OK, Canadian cars wi-fi must be quite different than US models. See attached for Hermes module functionality.

i know where it should be
but there is no module installed or could it somewhere else then above the head unit?

 

Not familiar with Canadian vehicles but comparable Canadian VIN WDDZF4KB7HA240900 lists codes 14U Smartphone integration, 16U Apple Carplay smartphone integration, 17U Android Auto smartphone integration, 274 Telephone aerial yet EPC shows no Telematics unit (500 grayed out).
