2019 e450 driver cluster is out, any advice
hi. My 2019 e450 driver side Panel is black. I have an appt 9/22, but does anyone have any experience with this.During the ida deluge it sat in a back yard driveway, so I don't think it should have water damage.

I have to go outside and check, but I think that turns off the infotainment section
I'm talking about speedometer and oither gauges. I wouldn;t think it would be legal to drive a car with no speedometer

In that case, try holding the power button to see if the car does a hard restart. Computers glitches now and then and usually a reset or restart is what fixes it.

ok. What /where is the power button.
On a side note, my gauges are out along with any potential warnings?.
If I drive with no gauges..idk, seems risky
I may have it towed
anyone go through this?
thanks

ya, I saw a different video where it had a button on the right side of the center console turning off the radio/nav[, but the buttons on the right side of mine don't do much, not even turn off the infotainment screen.

Depends on the options you have on your vehicle, the button might be located in the volume control knob which pressing on it will turn off the infotainment screen. This is because if you have certain options, a new button occupies the power button's space.

On my car, all the volume control knob does is control the volume. Pressing it mutes the infotainment system.

Makes sense if you have the power button but for certain equipped vehicles, that volume control doubles as a screen off button (it will have the power button icon labeled beside the volume icon) because a spot was taken by another feature (especially AMG models for example that has the performance exhaust occupying the space) or other highly equipped cars with tons of options like sunshade, air suspension etc.

I honestly wouldn't recommend it, you can't tell if your signals are on. (Maybe the ticking sound will still be on), you can't see if your safety systems are active, you don't know what speed you are going, thankfully you can still control your climate control I think because of the existence of buttons still. The worse is you don't know if your transmission is set to drive, park or reverse.

I do not think there is much chance of being in reverse if you think you are in forward. As to speed, just use your iPhone on WAZE.
Of course having it flat bedded is safer: Where I live the minimum would be $150 and my dealer is only 5 miles so I would drive.
Just my $.02

Depends on far the dealer is: If it is on secondary roads I would do it: Just have a friend (or your wife) go in front of you, have him put on his four way flashers, you too and follow him to the dealership.

I heard from dealer. The passenger side carpet was wet and there were "buckets of water" in the ?floor of the chassis.
?
I never noticed because I rarely have a passenger.
I asked if he thought it might be Ida related, but he said no, that this car has a drain issue.
jeesh..
He said he didn't need any money so far..
