soft close trunk not working/slight trunk gap
anyone else have this issue? If so, what parts fixed it? everything works fine, when the trunk gets to the locked position you hear a motor running to try and pull it down but the trunk doesn't move anymore.

I've had the same problem and solved it myself. You can look here: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...d-working.html

Well, when it burned, here it was in the middle of the winter and i had to fix it fast, i didn't want the trunk to be closed up to 95%, i need it 100%. So i bought a second hand the whole mechanism #A204 750 00 60 from S212, it's the same mechanism only the cord is different, but i unattached mine from mechs. and attach it to the donor and Voala. Everything work fine and trunk was closed 100%.
But i didn't want to dispose the broken one and i disassembled it to figure it out where is the problem. When i opened it it smells on a burned bakelite or sort of that. And obviously the problem wasn't in the three plastic gears. So obviously the motor (rotor i call it, but it's the same) is gone away, but i took the motor to e electrical guy and he opened the motor. Inside everything was black and burned => official dead of the motor. I disassemble the gears and pulled out the motor and measure it with caliper gauge (metrical one) and started to search in Aliexpres for the rotor with same sizes (there are plenty of them, different sizes, models, voltage and etc.) and i found one and order it. Yesterday it came and i installed it in my previous mechanism and it works just fine. So now i've got one in my car (the donor from S212) and my original repaired one in garage.
Here i attach a simple pic with dimensions of the motor. By them i searched in Aliexpress for secondary motor.

That was the issue .. looked and noted the cable was disconnected from the motor, and the motor was 180 degrees from where it needed to be positioned. I am sure it would have worked if I just hooked the cable back up, but I changed the unit with a new one since i already had it expedited over.

Well, yeah. This is an often issue in 212, unhooked cable from the unit. And yes i you attached the cable again, there will be no problem to work (if there isn't another issue of course..). Nobody can told me why the cable is disconnecting itself, but it happens.
