it’s possible to upgrade to Apple wireless CarPlay in a 2019 Mercedes-Benz?

Does anyone know if it’s possible to upgrade to Apple wireless CarPlay in a 2019 Mercedes-Benz? I only have wireless charging, but when I want to use Apple CarPlay, then I have to plug in the cable, so it kinda makes the wireless charging seems superfluous. I know the phone box is supposed to boost the cellular signal, but I don’t know if the wireless charging is not being used, is the signal still being boosted in the phone box? Please what should I do to reduce these troubles.

It's possible. Several devices are available which convert wired Carplay to wireless. I bought the Carlinkit on Amazon for my 2017 E 300 and it works pretty well. Other models are also available on Amazon and elsewhere, generally for around $100. Advantage of Amazon is easy returns just in case it doesn't work.

I bought the Carlinkit but was disappointed as it doesn’t display Sat Nav directions on the HUD.

I find that feature really handy. It’s a shame that Mercedes mavigation is not as good as google/apple

I do not understand what is to be gained with a wireless connection to the iPhone other than a very small convenience. Especially if you lose some functionality in the navigation mode.

There are advantages and disadvantages to wireless CarPlay. One of the disadvantages with wired CarPlay is that the phone is always being charged the moment you plug it in. That's not good for battery life if it's kept pegged at 100% often. I wish Apple would add a setting to allow limiting the charge level of the battery to 80% while connected to CarPlay. It's one of the reasons I rarely use CarPlay, especially not on a long trip where the phone would remain plugged in all day for example. But wireless has also disadvantages. Audio quality is poor and the UI is somewhat laggy compared to a wired connection. I have not gone for one of these wireless CarPlay adapters, because I rarely use CarPlay. I prefer Bluetooth for streaming and handsfree phone, and use the MB navigation, because I find it better in most situations than the phone apps. That's partly because with the MB system I can have navigation information on multiple screens, and it's always available. I can quickly send a destination from my phone to the car, and two clicks later I'm off. I find the MB navigation has superior lane guidance, even directing me on and off express lanes, which neither Google Maps nor Waze etc. do. I also often drive in areas with no cell coverage, so the phone apps are largely useless in those areas.

Wow the USB plug-n-play device is super cool, just placed an order. Not just wireless CarPlay and wireless Android Auto, the more is its standalone sytem, that brings Android OS to MBUX, allowing install any apps in car. Just plug and play.

There are many benefits of wireless CarPlay. My friend drives the same car as you. He finds using wired CarPlay very troublesome. He has to enter the car several times a day, and every time he needs to plug in the cable, which wastes a lot of time. Bad battery. After that, he used an adapter, which he thinks works well. It can not only split the screen, run two programs independently on one page, but also support the installation of various applications into the car.

I have this one ; Carlinkit 2021 MINI CarPlay Box for Mercedes Volvo Etc Support Bluetooth Wireless Auto Connection, Charging|Car Multimedia Player| - AliExpress

it works well

don't pay more than 50/60 euro, anything over is ridiculous. especially for android; in general cheaper than for iphone

only weird thing; normally when connected o carplay i can stil go into the CAR's phone or navigation menu by just pressing the buttons on the dashboard.
But sometimes when i do this, it shows me the CARPLAY phone/ waze menu.
I then have to go to the car's main menu and go to CAR navigation or phone from there .

I dont know what year your car is, but just wait until your live traffic runs out and there's no way to renew it. I had to stop using the MB nav because of this.

As an aside, for those that use Android, Motorola released their wireless puck (MA1) for Android Auto. It works brilliantly.

2019. The live traffic situation is only with vehicles on the old discontinued mBrace platform using TomTom live traffic. 2019+ vehicles are on the new Mercedes me connect platform and MB replaced TomTom with HERE Traffic. The issue is TomTom no longer wants to support it, but MB has no interest in migrating the old mBrace platform to a new traffic provider. It's end of life.
