Rotary tweeters?

Purchased mine from AliExpress (K&K store) and very very good quality. An auto audio installation shop and my MB service advisor could not believe they were not OEM

They are not acoustically tuned to your amplifier or door midranges.
The originals are part of the Burmester High-End 3D Surround Sound System.
The motor movement and lighting are controlled via the LIN-Bus (Local Interconnect Network). 3-pin.
My stubborn Irish brain wanted originals but after researching the retrofit, it would be expensive, complex, and need coding.
Could it be done? Sure if you have the cash and time.
It’s nearly a full rewire of the cabin audio system and you'd need NT 5.5
Economical? No.
Here's what you could do.
The drivers are probably very cheap but you can upgrade them.
You would need the set up and DSP that @kingscorpian27 uses and it would exceed 3D system quality.

Some of the aftermarket rotating tweeters clip in and some are glued. You'll need to do some research to ensure fit.
This is a forward only system BUT with correct DSP tuning, even at high levels it would not matter.
I'm going to spend the money once the opportunity presents itself.

Correct, your OEM Burmester speakers are way more capable than you might think. If you ever heard my system with the DSP amplifier, you’d understand what I mean. I guarantee you, I could take on the 3D system and sound better any day. With the DSP amplifier you can even tune each speaker independently. The added overhead tweets also makes a world of difference.

It's capable of surpassing it ONLY if you upgrade the dome material (silk, beryllium, aluminum).
All give smoother highs, less distortion, and more detail.
⚠️ Aftermarket tweeters must match your amp’s output and impedance.
I'll upgrade the wire gauge on the aftermarket tweeters and possibly motor wires.
Hopefully. I can just swap the factory domes for now. Aluminum is probably best but more difficult to tune.
Musway M12 is the best value on the market. I look at others and they are double the cost!
About the Burmster 3D System
The Burmester 3D system is tuned for mass-production and not maximum fidelity. It's not even specifically tuned for each model..
The rotation and elevation of the factory Burmester 3D tweeters serve an acoustic function. It aims slightly at the windshield and roofline. It's effect is minimal and less than 1 dB.
The motion itself doesn’t adjust the sound while you drive — it’s a fixed, calibrated positioning event.

Car audio speakers are ALWAYS 4ohms nominal.
Home speakers or speakers for home use are usually 8 ohms nominal. (Save maybe horn loaded compression drivers).
Car audio amplifiers can power any speaker and depending on amplifier model, can support from 1 ohm to 8 ohms speakers without issues.
A dsp with time domain adjustment will elevate the system by a significant amount.
