So, I need to change the transmission fluid on my 2017 E400 wagon with 9G. Ordered what the website said was the appropriate parts kit from a major vendor after entering my vehicle details there, including transmission type. Ultimately didn't have tools to do change myself but local independent was willing to use my parts. Dropped car off, but got a call that included parts were for 7G, not 9G.
Here's what's in the kit I bought from the website (key parts only):
Here's what the independent (in writing) and my dealer (over the phone) told me I actually need for a 9G
1. Trans filter kit (7252703707)
2. 6L fluid (MB236.17)
I emailed the vendor to let them know that their website spits out the wrong recommended parts. The strange thing is that the parts website (a very major one, too), while very friendly, insists that the kit they sent me is absolutely appropriate and interchangeable.
Would you guys mind settling these contradicting statements between vendor and independent? Kinda crazy that there isn't easy consensus.
