Suspension Lubrication?

Does anyone know of any common spots that need to be greased in the front end suspension?

I had a 2014 c300 and it would make a sound when going over uneven ground, not as much as a creek or a clunk but just some sort of noise (it’s hard to describe), I ended up dumping it and getting a 2019 E450 and the exact same noise has shown up on this car. I picked it up at 11,000KM with bo disused at all and now at 48,000KM and this same noise has appeared.

Wondering if something is dried out? It doesn’t happen all the time and I feel like I hear it more inside the car than outside under the dash inside the car.

noisy suspension

Glad you come to appreciate how well built these cars are.

Get these items looked at:
  1. sway bar (driver side sway bushing )
  2. Front struts cardridge out of specs
  3. (upr/lwr ball joints)

Enjoy.

Resolved.

For anyone that was wondering what this was, it was not sway bars or ball joints.

It was actually the bump stops on the struts. These were lubricated and the noise is now gone.

strut lube

This is good to know how the strut assembly itself needed maintenance.
Thank you.

The sound I was hearing would occur when going over large dips in the road (the kind of dips where you can see the car in front up you really bounce up and down) or speed bumps where the suspension would compress a lot.

It wasn’t a noticeable going over small bumps or at high speed and wasn’t a noise you could hear by manually
rocking the car or even listening outside because the wind noise. It was more something you could hear in the cabin floor or behind the dash/foot wells on both sides.

This was diagnosed and fixed by MB who used the super special mb lubricant.

There is nothing in modern cars to lubricate these days. No more zerk fittings or wheel bearings to pack.
