Steering wheel controls

My steering wheel controls for the left side that controls the middle or the screen just randomly stopped working I can’t reset my TPMS or even clear any messages because none of the buttons work …the call and hang up buttons still work…

is there a fuse for this or no

You can check wiring by removing airbag rest should be self-explanatory. If fine, without pulling codes switch panel may be malfunctioning.

steering buttons

Let us know if you've identified your problem/solution.

Every one of the 5+ circuit boards involved with the stack of steering wheel modules are built to require attention with solderless pins.

The goofy wheel side buttons... are solderless!
A 5˘ easy fix with no appointment or paperwork needed:

L+R buttons... befire/after easy fix 😆

once you have a fresh list of fault codes, it may make more sens. Problem may be with bad button master circuit.
Scanners really pay for themselves in cases like that

simple.... yes and no 🤘

if you don't trust your DIY skills a set of new steering wheel modules or more may be required...

Not quick'n easy:
1-- Each side buttons boards plug into a wheel main board

2-- that main board plugs into another board below

3-- again that board plugs into a circuit board named Steering Column Module

4-- that whole sandwich stack gets its reference GND from a shared location that is often marginal straight from factory.

wheel-only central control module

SCM extra long unsoldered pins

solderless goodness

Possible Fixes :
A > You may get temporary relief with as little as a battery reboot.

B > The best way to fix this chaos is to address the root cause before it all comes into play one module at the time, repair after repair...

It's very simple to deal with once you understand how one thing leads another. The funny buttons are merely the tip or this iceberg.

C> Only deal with all 3 circuit boards in the wheel for now: 30mn well spent.

battery reboot don’t work

steering wheel has light the right side still works

volume control was the last to stop working

first to stop working was the touch pad in the middle

super easy in-'N-out

Remove all 3 modules from the steering wheel then simply bring these pieces to a local TV repair shop where they can quickly solder these boards under 10 minutes for $20 or peanuts.

You won't need to remove the wheel off but do disconnect batteries before dealing with SRS Air-bag.
