USB flash issue
MERCEDES E350 2018 w213
Hello i have a strange issue with USB on my media NTG 5.5..
I would like to listen songs via USB but when i plugg in into slot the whole media freezing..
i changed usb stick but nothing help..
any ideas

Try another USB. The one you are using may have read errors.

How many files does your USB hold? I had a 128 GB flash drive with mp3 files and it took forever to load up and recognize all the files.

I recently found out Fat32 works best (even though nothing is specifically mentioned about this in the manual)

with FAT32 the car reads the USB faster and reads my playlists correctly (with exFAT some songs were missing)

As Windows does not format anything over 64gb in FAT32, use this: FAT32format GUI (GUIFormat) (Windows) - Download & Review (softpedia.com)

Technically FAT32 is not the greatest because it is not a journaling filesystem and subject to file corruption. Does it matter in a car? Probably not but who has time to reload gigs worth of data when it could have been avoided. Also, there is a maximum file size of 4Gb so this format is not very suitable for video media.

I use NTFS whenever and wherever I can especially in vehicles. I have several movies (favorite is Chef) in my car for when I'm waiting for somebody.

You are right of course, and have no explanation wh FAT32 works faster in my car or why only with this format the playlists are being read correctly
