Welcome.

You likely need to go in to the "vehilce" settings menu in Command and then activate some of the features as they can be manually de-activated. If you haven't done anything then there is no reason for the car to revert to other settings, but for example, my car always resets the seat heating balence back to seat back only every few weeks...

Thanks for the reply. I checked the stettings they are all activated. Also the active lane keeping assist shuts off as soon as I give the right or left indicator. When i turn off the indicator the lane keeping assist and the auto steer turns back on. I initially thought it could be the motor in the steering but the auto park is working perfectly. Which also means that the auto park sensores are working. ade there any sensors on the side of the car that might be bad ?

lane change assist, i take it you mean the car changes lanes when you use your signal ?
The W213 doesn't have this feature
The w212 had it, but i think it was deactivated (like parking with your phone) due to regulations (in europe at least).
Right now only the new S class and (i think) the EQE have this technique which is part of the level 3 autonomous driving

It is a w213 and it has everything and so do the new ones too. All e classes infact some new A class have it too from what I remember so its pretty standard add on feature now that people get.

We most certainly get lane change assist in the USA. I have it in my '19 C63S coupe. Works great!. But I just saw OP seems to be located in Ireland.

There are radar sensors in the rear bumper that are used for this. Same radar sensors that are used by the blind spot assist. The parking sensors are only short range and mostly used for, as their name says, parking. The blind spot assist only beeps if you turn on the indicator while there's a car in your blind spot. The warning triangle in the mirror should light up, though, either way if it's working correctly. Best to hook up an OBDII diagnostic tool to see if there are any error codes logged. I can't think of why it would suddenly stop. It does only work above certain speeds and only on divided highways, though. It uses navigation data to determine what road you are on. Is your navigation system working correctly?

EDIT: Just saw that you are located in Ireland, so maybe there is a regulation thing. Has your car recently had any service done?

I guess i stand corrected...
i thought it was a European regulation, but maybe it's a French thing.
Here, the option (like parking with phone) is only available for level 3 (which only the S & EQE have)
I think it's even deactivated on cars that previously had it (like the ww212)

Also worth making sure that the required conditions are actually met. Here's what it says in my owner's manual. There are also multiple indicators in the instrument cluster as listed below that provide information about the status. If the assistance graphic is shown, then you get further visual confirmation as to what's going on. So perhaps you can explain in more detail what you see in your instrument cluster when attempting a lane change.

I am pretty sure this is supposed to happen. You don't want it to try to keep you in the lane when you signal to change lanes.

It does if you specifiy the advanced distronic and the drive pilot. When you have the steering wheel button pushed on (green steering wheel symbol appears in the dash) and you activate cruise control then when you indicate the car changes lane (takes 5 flashes on the motorway). My car has it but i rarely use it.

I made a mistake: my previous w213 with comand had it (not my w212)
the w213 with mbux that i have now, does not have it and as far as i know it can't be ordered on that model

Different markets will potentially have different options. FWIW, here in the USA, Active Lane Change Assist is still part of the Driver Assistance Package even on the latest model with MBUX.

I use it all the time. One of the nice things about it is that the blinker keeps flashing until you complete the lane change, instead of just 3 times.

Need to have someone erase stored & retrieve current codes using Xentry (MB diagnostics) see attachment to better understand system(s). Don't know applicable code(s), provide VIN.

I would just add that the blind spot indicator does not function at low speeds, at least on my E450.

That is correct, but it's not your speed that matters, it's the speed of the approaching vehicle that matters. The vehicle approaching and entering the monitoring range has to travel above 8 mph.

My '18 E300 blind spot indicator works all the time especially in very slow moving traffic when approaching a red light.
