I've never seen a cruise control stalk on a W213. Our pre-facelift had steering wheel buttons as well as the facelift (although a bit different buttons). Is this market area dependent? I very much preferred the old style stalk over the current steering wheel buttons.

There was a small stalk by the electric steering wheel stalk from 2016 until end of MY18. The controls were then moved to the stering wheel for MY19 and then the steering wheel was changed again for the MY21 facelift. The move for the MY19 then included more functionality for the adaptive crusie, including slowing down for corners and roundabouts rather then just the radar and stop start function.

Obviously the stalk must have existed on a 213 but not on all cars until end of MY 2018, we had a MY2017 (option code 807 in data card) W213 (213.050) that had no stalk but cruise control on the steering wheel. I wonder what would explain the difference, one with a stalk and the other one with steering wheel controls.

As I know, W213 from 2016 to 2018, car with CC: cruise control or SL: speed limit, it comes with 3 stalks, if your 2017 E350e has no 3rd stalk, two possibilities: 1. your car has no CC or SL. or 2. your previous owner changed the steering wheel to the newer (2019) type(cc button on steering wheel). Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks for your time trying to help me understand this detail. However, the car had no previous owner, wife's car from new. The first option sounds odd, is there any W213 (ROW or US market) that would not have CC? I cannot remember if they had a manual gear box with some engine but certainly not on the 213.050 (plug-in hybrid).

I thought perhaps the stalk was for the basic CC but since you had a retrofit option with the stalk, this cannot be the explanation. I then had another look at on-line manuals, the "Audio 20" on-line manual for 9/2016 - 11/2017 that clearly covered the CC stalk option:
https://moba.i.mercedes-benz.com/bai...ae4-en-GB.html
https://dom.daimler.akamaized.net/W2...arbe-de_de.mp4

Now I've learned about the CC stalk on an early 213 but I'm still puzzled about the claim that the stalk existed until MY2018 as our MY2017 had distronic and steering wheel control. Our car is a LHD model, I would assume the change to steering wheel controls occurred for the UK/Singapore cars at the same time it appeared for US?

In case someone reads just this message, I'm not "complaining" about the CC retrofit EleBest offers, on the contrary, I still find the stalk option much easier to use after driving many years cars with both options. If it wasn't expensive, I'd consider retrofitting the CC stalk to a car with steering wheel control.

Couldn't agree more. The stalk is just so much easier to find with your fingers without having to look where it is, and is much simpler, quicker to operate.

I can definitely vouch for EleBest, they currently do all my work on my car for a couple years now. There’s a boat load that they have done to date. Extremely pleased with their service. Next on my todo list is MBUX, maybe or maybe not on the touchscreen (TBD). I’m not crazy about the new steering wheel options MB has now. My favorite was the, I think MY2019 AMG steering wheel

My awfully sorry for creating mis-understanding, yes. 3 stalks on left side, but 1 stalk on right side. so total is 4 stalks. In my world, I did not consider the middle ( telescopic adjustment) as a stalk, but consider the right side stalk as 1 stalk. my mistake.

In a simple way, car from 2016 - 2018: there is cruise control stalk, for 2019 onward, no such stalk, because it moved to steering wheel.
