P052E issue - PCV
Recently I got this issue... dreaded one as everyone discussed.. went to the dealer. Luckily, recently Mercedes sent a letter (extended warranty) to several including me that includes the fuel intake / PCV assembly. I gave the same to the dealer and now fingers crossed if they will cover. Otherwise it will be a 2K thing in my view... I did not reset the code myself. The dealer diag fee is 327 USD that i need to pay if I take it back! Anyone with any inputs on this issue?

The more expensive issue right here is that failed PCV causes fatal ECU contamination with oil.
Make sure this is all repaired at once together with all evidence in place. If ECU fails 6Mo later with a dry PCV connector, then recall claim will no longer be available.
You may decide to act now by checking if ECU issue is already active.

The failed PCV system needing to be replaced is one thing.

PCV oil flods ECU: RIP.

collateral ECU damage.
yes, you see it well in the video, it takes 5mn.
inspect PCV connector... oil?
inspect ECU connector... oil?
Use pictures as simple evidence prior to repair claim being submitted.
Of course if you had an MB scanner you'd be able to read ECU faults status easily:

Ask and pay if you have to get this inspection done. $300 now is worth to 10G savings. This will help you with a factual paper trail of when oil was found there....

Emission controls are covered 8 years or 80,000 miles.
I believe the PCV valve/control is part of emissions controls.
I would insist this is a warranty item.
Just my $.02

re is the additional warranty letter exactly stating this issue recd from mercedes luckily a few months back..on partial load ventilation valve and entire intake assembly including ECU programming. The warranty extention is for 15 years, 150k miles.
Bad that merc dealer didnt take my car in for several days, and they didn't give me a loaner too.. till date they didnt do the diagnosis.. NJ dealers are worst.
