E300DE Touring tyre dimensions

I just bought myself an E-class Touring 300DE 4matic 2022.

Fitted with wheels:
Front rims 8J18 ET43
Front tyres 245/45R18
Rear rims 9J18 ET52,5
Rear Tyres 275/40R18

I asked local dealer in Sweden if possible to fit 8J18 ET43 rims all around with 245/45 tyres but according to them not possible due to the weight of the car. Supposedly the fitted dimensions of wheels/tyres is the only possible option. I am looking for a new set of winter tyres for next season and as far as I can see there are 0 options for studded tyres avaliable in dimension 275/40R18.

Anyone with more insight in this? It seems to me a bit strange that it would not be possible to mount 245/45 all around. That would open up plenty more options of winter tyres.

You will have to use an alternate size tire. The best fit in a studded tire is a Nokian Nordman 225/55r18 with a load index of 102. That is 55 pounds less than the 103 load index. Keep in mind that the load index is for a fully loaded vehicle. If the vehicle isn't fully loaded, say 4 passengers instead of 5, the 102 load index will be sufficient.

Thanks for input, that might be an option but I wonder if OK from a legal standpoint? I wonder if there are any other members of this forum that has fitted custom dimensions on this model.

What do you mean by "from a legal standpoint"? Do you mean what your local government requires by law? If so, this is probably not the best place for that advice. At least not definitively. Have you tried asking MB or the dealership?

AFAIK the only tire restrictions in Sweden relate to the months and road conditions that define when winter tires and studded tires must be used and when they are prohibited.

Has a 2021 but same. It is quite heavy in the back so friction tyres works fine.

OK, noted. I have double checked and need a load rating of minimum 103 in the rear to drive legally. Living in northern Sweden I would prefer studded tyres. I guess I could get away mounting 245/50r18 all around (load index 104) with 3,6% bigger circumference or 255/45r18 (load index 103) all around with 1,3% bigger circumference and possibly too wide tyres for front rims?? (8 inch). Then I would have plenty of options for winter tyres but I am a bit hesitant mounting "out of spec" tyres.
