HUD Alignment ???

All... I had to have my windshield replaced in my 2021 AMG E63s. Since replacement the Heads Up Display is misaligned (has a shadow / blurry effect on each character). IE: the tach numbers have a shadow offset diagonally up and to the left. YES, I had Mercedes do the new windshield install with a Mercedes windshield. The dealer worked on the alignment today for most of the day with the tech giving up. Anyone know how to solve this problem? I have found the HUD service menu and tried a couple adjustments with no real difference, so I just undid the changes and exited. There are all kinds of adjustments in the menu but the darn haptic buttons on the steering wheel make the adjustment process infuriating. Any help here would be appreciated.

This is dealer caused problem. They have to fix it. May be defective windshield? Not coded properly? Poor calibration? I have no idea, but someone at Mercedes knows. They have two famous lines when they are out of ideas - 'need software update', or my personal favorite, 'have call into Germany'. You may need to take to another dealer to get satisfaction.

One of the reasons to use a Mercedes-Benz dealer for doing this type of work is that they are supposed to be able to do these repairs without any negative impact to the normal functions of the car. This should very much be in their wheelhouse to fix and if they can't they will need to contact Germany to get guidance. Otherwise, what's the point of using MB for any service work.

The HUD display is not misaligned, the reason it appears blurry is correct as per the last post - there is is specific HUD windshield. I picked up a crack on my original windshield and it was replaced with the wrong windshield and I had the blurry/double vision noted in the original post. The glass company replaced it a second time with the correct one on their dime.
On the passenger side, lower corner it lists the options on the windshield (HUD, acoustic, etc.)

I am always curious actually, what is different about the HUD specific one, use of material? Refraction properties?

Not sure if its true, but I was told it has an anti-reflection layer between the layers of glass. All I know is the HUD version fixed the double vison

Anyone had a generic windshield replacement installed instead of OEM. I think MB windshields are a bit on the softer side. I have noticed a lot of little dings on windshield, especially at night. Never before on any other vehicle or even my other previously owned MB’s.

My replacement is aftermarket and seems fine other than no Mercedes sticker on the lower, passenger side.

Thank you, how long have you had it and have you noticed any difference?

They replaced my windshield couple weeks ago - no difference that I can tell in appearance other than no Mercedes sticker.

Ok, let’s see in a year or two. Did you by any chance notice any tiny chips in your OEM windshield before the change.

I have always found OEM euro glass to be "softer" and tends to get more chips and sandblasting.
