.
There is probably a VPC hold waiting for either a part, software or a compliance/sales release.

My car was delivered to the dealership today and I'm going on Wednesday 8/28 to pick it up. That assumes a deal can be made on the price.

Hopefully you can get at least 3 to 6 percent off. I know there’s a program with American Express through mb for a discount look into that. My car is now scheduled to be built sept 30th so a month earlier than it was originally. I changed Salesman. I dunno why the original salesman was giving me such a late build date without originally telling me what the build date was going to be. Glad that worth is all behind me now.

Congrats! The wheels look great. I was torn between those and the black but finally ended up ordering with the black wheels.

I had a unique situation that I'll not get into but bottom line was I got 3% off MSRP and no destination charge. I just paid a tax, tag, and title. I added the 3 yr/ 100K mile extended warranty as well but opted to not get any of the additional add-ons for the car. I'll be doing PPF and ceramic coating soon.

I'll post a full set of pics in the picture thread but for now here's another look at her after I got home. It was odd driving the car since I'm quite used to driving basically the same car for the past 4 months and 6750 miles. Felt like a new car but still familiar. This one has a lot more options and is an E450 where the other was an E350. I didn't push the engine as it's in the break-in period but I can already tell there is extra power there. The multi-contour sears are amazing. Much more comfortable than the standard seats. The massaging function is amazing. My wife didn't want to get out of the car when we got home.

Wow gorgeous car. So that 3 year 100k warrantee gives you a total of 7 years then? I may get that with my car when I get it in October. Around how much are they getting for that these days if you don’t mind me asking? I’m kinda outta touch with the current pricing on extended warrantees. Is it a Mercedes warranty? Last one I bought was on my s class and I think that was 4100 bucks and it’s finally running out around this coming Christmas. The cars up to 73k mikes already. Gonna be nervous when that runs out. I’ve thought about a 2024 S63 amg but those are up to a couple hundred grand now. But the car is a beast. 720 horse power very fast.

its a beauty congrats...do you know if the tires are foam filled...i think they are Pirellis and 20s. I have Pirellis on my S class and they are foam filled. Just curious as they do make a difference re noise.

I am surprised at your inquiry: There are so many posts on this subject and the universal conclusion is too wait until the original warranty is about to expire before buying an extended warranty. Between now and 4 years from now so many things can happen that would negate laying out money now for something that will not benefit you until fours years from now.

Jeff Jackson of Mercedes of Louisville has consistently had the best price on Mercedes extended warranties. I purchased my extended warranty from Jeff in December,2022: bumper to bumper, no deductible, cost was $2200 for my E450. I would never consider an extended warranty other than from Mercedes.

Hope this helps

Good point plus the extended warrantees vary so much in price from one dealer to another. In the past I’d been dealing with a dealer in California on the extended warrantees that seemed to have the best deals. It also makes a big difference on which model car it is. A S class extended will be a lot more than a E class and a C class less than a E class. I was just curious how much these type of Warrantess have gone up in price. They always do go up from year to year like everything else.

Waiting For Shipment

My 2025 E-450 was produced on 8/16/2024 and 16 days later it has not shipped. Don't know if it's still at the factory or at the port. Was hoping it would be on one of the 2 ships that left last week but I'm not seeing anything when I do a trace using my PO on the shipping company's website. Altogether, four ships have left since my build date. The next opportunities are 9/3 and 9/4, based on the current shipping schedule. Still, I'm in the general zone of 6 - 8 weeks following production until delivery (late September to early October). For those new to the forum or have recent "build/production" completed, understand that after your vehicle is built then it's a waiting game. At this stage, your dealer rep typically has no more information than you can find out yourself. Nevertheless, Mercedes Benz could help reduce some of the delivery anxiety by releasing their tracking app already deployed for European buyers. The technology is there. I'd rather have that and know what's going on than to be dependent on my dealer rep. BMW and other manufacturers seem to understand the benefit of using the latest technology. Perhaps MB will do the same soon, until then all we have are ballpark estimates from the experiences of others.

I’m in the same boat (no pun intended). Production is complete but no shipper info available. Just sitting in a lot I assume.

One of the problems with the Internet is TOO MUCH INFORMATION!

20 years ago, you placed an order, the dealer said 8 to 12 weeks delivery. The car came in, the dealer called you and you picked up the car.

Besides a few on this forum I bet 99.9% of people who order their cars never ever bother to track their cars, etc.

Sit back, relax, enjoy yourself and stop getting worked up on when you car comes in: In reality whether it takes 8, 10 or 12 weeks to receive your car after order make any difference?

Remember you going to keep this cars for many years: why work yourself up about a possible delay of 2 or even 4 weeks. In the long run it will not make any difference!

As someone who has ordered a number of new cars, over the last 50 years, I can say that you make good points, and I agree. However, having said that, today, as you mentioned, today there is the internet, which allows we buyers much more informational access. Plus, many of us are now retired, therefore have time on our hands, so we're far more able to "research" our new car purchases.

I don"t know what is happening. My car left Germany Aug. 7th. On Aug.15th the car was put on hold while on the ship. It was unloaded in Halifax Aug.21st and I was given an ETA of Sept.28th to Ottawa,ON. That has now been changed to Oct.8th. Tuesday the dealer will call MB to find out why the delay. The car should not take more than three weeks from Port of entry to the dealer, 1435 kms away.(889 mi)
Anyone else with an E450 on hold?

I’d fear there was some kind of damage in transit that needs to be fixed. You definitely need some answers.

You may not be aware of this, but is not uncommon for accidents, etc. to happen between the time the car leaves the factory and arrives at the dealer. Vehicle Distribution Centers, VDC where cars go after being unloaded from ships, will any fix dings, replace broken parts, do any recalls and update software all before your car reaches the dealer. Neither you nor the dealer are notified. Those VDC centers are considered final "assembly plants" - an extension of the factory. So in Mercedes parlance, the car being delivered to the dealer is from the factory.

I am not saying it happens often, but it is not uncommon.

see: https://bimmerlife.com/2018/08/11/a-...bution-center/

from the article:

"But it’s not all what you might expect as far as inspections and options installations are concerned. It’s not exactly unusual for a vehicle to receive damage in one form or another during transport, and the BMW VDC is among the last lines of defense when it comes to correcting problems. Equipped with a full—and quite expansive—body shop and paint facility, extensive repairs can be carried out onsite. From full panel or bumper replacement to a respray of a scuffed area, work is performed in a multitude of bays and other stations, and the entire place is as clean and well-maintained as you might expect with plenty of demarcation, even for trash cans."

Hope this clarifies

This will be our 28Th new MB. They will have to tell me why it is held up at port for 6 weeks or they can keep the car. This all started about a year ago when the E class was held up. Then only the 350 was available . Waited for the 450 and finally got an allocation. Car was built with missing equipment. Reordered as 25 model. Now this! They have exhausted my patience.
