Air Conditioner Fan Level

I just recently leased a 2024 E450. I live Southern California where temperatures can get up to 100 degrees. I noticed that the car’s fan level differs from our other car, a 2022 GLE350 and my previous car, 2013 CLS 550. The latter two cars, a fan level of 4 was normal. For the E450, I find it that a fan level of 4 or 5 is not strong enough and have been using level 6. I’m wondering if anyone is experiencing the same thing?

If the temperature is set to "auto" the fan automatically adjust to the conditions. If not on auto you can manually adjust the fan speed. On my 2019 E450 fan speeds are 1 - 6.

I am manually adjusting the fan level with auto disabled. The fan level goes up to 7, but I’m currently running it at 6 since I think 5 is too low. In my other cars, I would only need to set it to 4 or 5.

Is there a question?

I’m trying to figure out if there is something wrong with my car or if other owners have also noticed less fan power from the W214.

I have not seen an issue with less fan power than any of my past cars. I've driven a 2024 E350 and now a 2025 E450 and both were the same.

I would set it to auto and leave it alone. If it gets too hot lower the temp. The fan will blow harder automatically until the AC reaches the set temperature. You may find that the unit blows air for a longer time when the outside temperature is high. However if you enjoy adjusting the fan yourself then the auto function will not be much use.

That's what I do. The auto setting has worked well for me for the past 20 years. Before that, I didn't have an auto setting in my car.

E220d AMG line W214
My W214 has AC setting that I have newer seen in any other car, I am not sure if it is the same with US models...
Even when I select AUTO mode, I can change fan levels in range 1-5 and they will blow stronger and then weaker when the selected temperature is reached, and if I select manual mode, I can change fan level range 1-7.

I keep mine at 20C temperature, auto fan level mostly on 3, and I only change fan levels when I need stronger or a weaker blow

Same here: When you are in auto you can override by pressing fan.

I’ve noticed the same thing. When I set the fan on level 5 I can barely feel the ac, and level 6 is too much sometimes. It’s like the first 5 levels are almost the same, my old w212 wasn’t like this.
