MBUX NA Map version 10.2 available

I was just on the Mercedes Me site and see that the 10.2 version of the North America map is available. I assume that in time, the car will automatically update but mine did not when the 9.1 NA update was available so I manually updated it. I'm in the process of downloading the 10.2 update and will likely apply it today when I'm checking out the new digital light projections. One tip I would suggest is to download the whole map rather than just choosing some areas in NA to update.

Thanks, Wolf. I still have v. 8. Dealer could not give me v.9 as they cannot retrieve. Now we have v.10.2. Cannot use my work computer to use Mercedes Launcher for this update. May need help from a friend to download to thumb drive. Mercedes states soon that they will no longer do downloads from their web site but must be done over the air. I have not had any over the air updates for anything.
Thoughts?

I initially thought I could just send you a thumb drive with the download on it, but I'm not sure that will work or is wise. The download may be specific to my car and versions of things and may not work on your car or worse, could cause an issue on your car. Do you only have a work computer to use? What about using a public computer to login with or a friends computer and download the update from there?

BTW: I updated my car while driving to the dealership for a service call for a cosmetic repair. Update took about 35 minutes and had no issues. I had the navigation running the entire time it was updating and it eventually gave me a prompt to restart the navigation system. It restarted and automatically started navigation to my previously set destination. Worked very well. Not sure what was updated but I suspect it was just changes in roads. I doubt there are new features on the navigation itself.

One thing I am hoping for is to get Waze alerts on the native MB navigation system. Mercedes uses Google under the covers and Google just announced that they will be adding Waze alerts directly on the Google Maps which will include things like police. I prefer to use the in-car navigation over Google or Waze through Android Auto but I load Waze in the background to get audio alerts. It would be much nicer to get that as part of the in-car navigation.

Hi Wolf, I assume that the update while you were driving was through your thumb drive? Agree with your suggestion, will go to a friend who is very computer minded and download 10.2 on a drive I will bring over. You are correct that the download on my car may not work from your disk. Talking with Mercedes People was very frustrating today not to mention the updates for the Digital Light.

Yes, it was from my thumb drive. I plugged it in after I started the car and everything initialized. As soon as I did, I got a prompt that an update was available and I had to enter my PIN to authorize the update. Then drove to the dealership (1 hour drive) and it completed while I was en route. Worked flawlessly! I finished my drive using the new navigation maps. Dealer now has the car until hopefully this Friday at the latest.

Where do you find the version # on your car? I’ve looked around and couldn’t find the Nav version. I received an update notice about 2 weeks ago while using the feature so I’m wondering if that was the install of 10.2.

On your Home Screen in the center, click the picture of the car on top, left side of screen. Then on the bottom of that new screen, click the setting wheel located on bottom, left side, Then on next screen, click VIEW on left side. Then the new screen, scroll all the way down to MAP Version. I am still at v. 8 given by dealer two months ago. No over the air update to new map, v.9 or v.10.2. I am wondering if the hot spot on my phone should be active for these updates. All the experts say not necessary as Car Play and car use the cellular data on my phone.
Hope this assists you.

Sorry, the setting-wheel is bottom right side, not the left side on the second screen after you click the picture of the car on top, right side.

Can you select regions? Step 1 says select regions on the map, but a single click on a region on the map doesn't select it, and a double click just zooms in. So the only option for me is to download the complete map.

I have a W214 my2025, came with 8.0, and has never indicated an over the air update. I manually install 9.1 and have downloaded 10.2 but have not installed it yet. I have not received any communication from Mercedes me or an indication on the app that an update is available. When i have my 2024 W214, and tried to manually update just my region, the car would indicate successfully updated, but when I would check the version it would indicate the previous version, I then updated the complete map and then it showed the updated version number.

I also have a 2019 W238 and when there is a map update I get an email from Mercedes me and will get an over the air update. The over the air update only does the region the car is in. i have manually updated it to update the voice content and other regions.

I was on this page but neither mousehover or a single click on the map brought the pop up message of region selection. Maybe because mine is my2024 and the car has v9?

A single left click on a given region should toggle it on or off. There will not be a popup. If that is not working then I don't know what your issue would be. What kind of computer are you using?

Why don't you just do the full map?

I was able to manually update my maps to 10.2, thanks to L1Wolf’s instructions. The download to the USB Flash-drive took longer than the actual update in the car and the download to the Flash-drive crashed a couple of times before righting itself.

Once I plugged the USB Flash-drive into the car, the actual update took about 20 minutes, all while was driving around. The update in the car worked flawlessly.

I'm using Firefox/Chrome/Edge in Windows 10. Maybe full map is the way to go, and I should get a 64G flash disk for that.

My maps is still on V 7.0 from when I took delivery, haven't gotten a single over the air update for maps nor MBUX. I guess I will do a manual update soon.

Finally updated the map. Used a micriSD card with a USB hub. The car said it wouldn't support USB hubs but it actually went through.
