Unhappy MB E53 Infotainment Issues

I have the new E53 Hybrid, but I have experienced issues with the software since day one. The screens reboot while driving, and everything turns dark; I do not lose engine power. I have already been back at the dealership. They said that it needed a "software" update (weird, as they should have already given you the car with the update, but that is another problem). What could have been the issue after they updated the software? The shop inspected wires and connections and could not see anything wrong. However, the car still goes stealth (dark mode) periodically.

This is the first release of the new MB.OS. All previous MBUX systems were based on a different platform. This one is entirely developed by MB. As in every initial release, there would be bugs. However, since all future MB cars will be based on that system, it's going to have priority updates.

Respectfully disagree that it is running MB OS. As far as I what I had read, the first vehicle that is running MB OS is the recently spotted new CLA. The W214 E 53 still runs MBUX but version 3.0, NTG 8. There are rumours that the W223 facelift will get MB OS. as well but not sure about how true that is.

The easiest way to tell if a car is running NTG 7 MBUX 2.0 or NTG 8 MBUX 3.0 is through the addition of routines on the latter version.

Agree with the fact that MB is still taking time to perfect the software and NTG 7 and NTG 8 is a transition period for MB before they release MB OS.

OP, recently there were reports from several models, including EQS with driver display and infotainment crashes, a software update should fix that in no time if it released so get the vehicle booked in.

you do realize you don't have to reply to every post on mbworld.org, right?
CLA would be the first to have AI integrated in MB.OS, as the MB.OS is designed to easily add enhancements, particularly entertainment and AI, and MB would be entirely responsible for how they do it.
E-class is the first to have MB.OS implemented, release 1.0, officially designated as precursor to the more advanced features.

Thanks for your reply, I still respectfully disagree with part of it, I agree with the part of being the precursor, but it is still based on MBUX is what I am trying to say.

The reason why I replied is because I wanted to correct information that may be incorrect or in this case, not entirely correct. I want to say I am grateful whenever I post incorrect information that I get corrected by another forum member so I can learn from my mistake. Feel free to correct my post when I post inaccurate information in the future.

Here is what I found: https://media.mercedes-benz.ca/relea...ng-system-mbos

"A precursor to MB.OS will already be available in the new E-Class starting in 2023 with the third generation of MBUX. A new MBUX API for Android allows the installation of third-party apps, offering a better user experience compared to mirrored apps."

I understand you don't want me to reply to your post in this thread and therefore I will respect that. So, I won't reply to the next post in this thread, I do wish you happy holidays and a happy new year though.

Thanks for contributing to the forums.

MBUX = Mercedes Benz User Experience. MB.OS = Mercedes Benz Operating System that drives MBUX.
I do appreciate you not replying, though

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. Mostly marketing hype, but is interesting to see how car companies are also becoming software companies. For the most part, the human user interface software in the car has been something that car companies have treated like an add-on that is not integrated to all the workings of the car. It's been stitched together from existing software that is not necessarily purpose built for the human operating a car. It's good to see MB (and I'm sure others) taking the next step in making software a first class citizen within the fabric of the human user interface. What's more interesting is that this is all en route to a future where humans are not operating cars at all.

Yes agree, most modern cars are computer on wheels, the W214 is no exception, in regards to MB OS, we had quite a thread discussing this topic here hope you find the information helpful: https://mbworld.org/forums/gle-class...llo-mb-os.html

If you are interested in learning more please feel free to read that thread and if you have questions as well, please do also reply to that thread as well.

I think OP will appreciate us talking about the topic that was asked "infotainment issues" and

sorry about that OP, so to answer your question, screen crashing, was reported on the forums and affected models were the EQS as well. I did hear there was a software fix available so hopefully if you ask your service advisior to book the vehicle in, they could find the update and fix it.

Happy holidays and happy new year to you all : )
