Trying to connect IPhone HotSpot to my 2025 MBUX? Cannot seem to get internet connectivity. Do I have to teather the phone to the car or will it work wireless. Can't play video on my super screen. Dealer is no help at this point. Thanks

Can you be more specific on what you are trying to do? The car gets internet either by getting a separate data plan specifically for the car or by using your phone as a hot spot. I'm assuming you are trying to do the latter. If so, first setup the hot spot on your phone and then connect the car to your phone's hot spot wifi. You do that by tapping the 5G icon in the upper right of the car's center screen. Then select Internet access.

Thanks, tried that and the car keeps saying can't find it. Tried three separate cell phones and nothing.

First screen says " to use mobile data with MBUX, please activate the hotspot function on your mobile device.

Then I enter my pass word from my cell phone hot spot then it says connecting, then I get "An error occurred with the connection, please try again.

Seems the only was is to buy there $15 a month Hot Spot?

Try connecting another device to your phone's hot spot. Rule out the phone being the problem.

No need to buy a plan. It works by connecting to your phone. You are likely doing something wrong or there is something wrong with your car or phone.

Copy, verified that the phone Hot Spot works fine on other devices, just not the car. Guess I'll call the Mercedes Help desk and they can walk me thru what's going on. Thanks. Also trying to figure out how to only unlock the drivers door without all other doors going to unluck at the same time. Dealer thought it was done witht he key fob but that does not change anything. Guess I'll have to read the manual...Thanks.

After hitting the WiFi symbol on mbux screen make sure your phone is turned on to the hotspot page which can be found in the phone setting near WiFi top of the page. Then the name of your phone should appear on the mbux menu then click on it on the mbux and it’ll ask you the phones hotspot password. I generally just use 12345678 to start out on my phone. Once you do that mbux will remember it so it won’t ask you the password again.

Good news. not sure how I did it but I just got You Tube video to play on my center screen, so Hot Spot worked, just don't recall how I did it. Anyway I should be able to duplicate at some point.

Still not able to see if I can only open the drivers door with the key fob rather than all doors going to unluck with the push of the button. For safety reasons I would like to only have one door unlock. Thanks.

There is a way to do that using the key fob. Page 75 of the owners manual has the instructions. I've highlighted the relevant parts in the below image.

Thanks for the quick response, however while the key fob does flash after 6 seconds, it does not change the door locking system in the 2025 E450. Also this screen shot is not on page 75 on my manual, nor on my page I think it was 85 is there any mention of this feature. Guess I will have the dealer inquire with MBUSA..

It works for me and I have a 2025 E450. To be clear, it doesn't change how the car locks. Just the unlock from pressing the key fob or when you approach and touch the driver door handle. When set, it will only unlock the driver door. The screenshot I posted is from a 2025 E class owners manual, but there are probably multiple revisions and the one I have downloaded was several months ago. Still the same process. I would suggest you have a discussion with the MB concierge at your dealership who can show you how to get it set the way you want it.

Edit: I am not 100% sure I actually tried this in my 2025 though. I had a 2024 E350 temporally while I waited for my 2025 order and I remember setting it there and it worked. I don't actually remember if I tried in my 2025. I'll have to try and let you know if it worked for me.Still not a bad idea to talk to your dealer to get tips on how to setup the many things you can on this car.

This feature has existed on every MB model for ages. Would be really odd if a MY 2025 car would not support it.

Agree, I have owned 12 Mercedes over the years and it seemed like a standard thing. Even my 2018 AMG has the feature. Oh well, I suspect someone at the dealership can figure it out or make a software change. I watched the dealer try to change it but he couldn't get it to work either, so perhaps it's not just me. Anyway he is working on a fix, or so he says. Thanks for responding.

I have the same issue (2024, E200 petrol) - when connect MBUX to my iPhone running a hotspot (or to the home wifi router), only the browser and youtube are functional. The Apple music streaming is not working.
I guess MBUS music streaming services require to buy a data plan for the car...

I use my iPhone to hotspot in my W214 and I can use the car's built in Apple Music app. No need for a Mercedes data plan at all. All I had to do is log in to the Apple Music app with my credentials. I recall the log in being a bit wonky (having to scan a QR code or something) but it eventually worked. And it is a one-time log in so now that I'm connected it just works.

It doesn't require a data plan, but it does require the "Online Music" digital extra, at least in the US, to use the app. Here it's sold as part of a bundle with lots of other features like navigation updates, traffic, etc, but it might be sold separately in Europe. Yes, it's ridiculous that you need to pay an annual fee to use an app in your E class, but welcome to 2025 I suppose.

I did not have to pay to activate Online Music in the MercedesMe app, under digital extras. After a year or so I'll have to pay for MercedesMe and I probably will. But it is free for now and I'm good with that.

Yeah, online music is part of that bundle you'll have to pay for after a year. If you don't pay for that when your free year expires (which I think is worth it, and I intend to pay for it), you'd lose access to the Spotify/Tidal/Apple Music apps.

It's not free. It's baked into the price of the car and you don't have an option to decline. To buy the car, you were forced to pay for the first year. After that, it's optional.
