Charging the E53 battery
I had a random thought. When I picked up my car, while the dealer was going through all the bells and whistles, I remember him saying that the battery doesn’t like to be run below 20%
Was anyone else told that? Is it a thing? I guess I should have asked him why, but we just kept moving.

Not sure about the E53 specifically, but in general it is recommended to keep lithium batteries like those used in EVs and hybrids as well as your phone between 20-80% charge to prolong the life of the battery. I assume they were referring to that.

If you drive the car every day, I would charge it to 100% every night. The battery capacity is so small that if you don't leave your home at 100% SoC then you will be driving around at 0% SoC before you know it.

Technically the charger is built into the car. But, you need an EVSE to attach the car port to a power source at your home. MB supplies a portable EVSE, with the car that has plugs for 240v and 110v power. If you choose to use the 110v cord, it will take close to 24 hours to charge the car from 0% SoC to 100% SoC. If you don't have a very long commute, you may get by with charging with 110 volts.
