E/W214: 2024 E450 Center Console Exchange
The Brown wood with Aluminum lines that occupies the portion that the Superscreen occupies, has vertical parallel aluminum lines…….I wish they were horizontal aluminum lines that’d have made it look a lot more elegant. Either way, they charge $1515 for the wood/aluminum on the dash, which is exactly the same cost as the Super-screen.
If I were you, I would just keep the console. It provides a bit of contrast to the all-black look.

Roweraay, with your response I may need view the console with new reverences. Thanks for your quick response.
Bon chance.
Edit - the attached applies to the W213, but the process should be similar for the W214.

the post that follows is advising about a different version but the process seems more complicated than logical. I’m going to wander to see my service advisor to see what he has to say …

I learned later, that there are additional requirements “under the hood”, than just physically swapping in the new set of lights, including the need to include multiple sensors under the car, needing to tap into the wiring system of the car etc., since there are a ton of interconnectedness within the various systems, which make it difficult to do a simple swap-out/swap-in. And of course, the second you touch the electrical/wiring system, warranty denial issues crop up. Not worth it.
I did some research on the trim pieces and they were selling about $500ish on mbparts website (although I couldn't tell the different trims, e.g., if maple wood or piano black from the parts description). Since the tariff started, everything is marked as "discontinued" so I don't know if they will import those pieces or not going forward. If we could find a way to make switching the parts work, that would save some trouble, even if it means our cars need to stay with the dealer during the parts shipping process.

I personally have had the wood color be a deal killer for me on previous deals I've worked on, but always thought to myself I can always have it wrapped.
Vid below I found:

saw the service advisor today and he offered that about 2 hours would be sufficient for the exchange so that Q is now known. and I got the part number for the maple (mine) is 214-680-52-04 and yours is then likely some iteration of the 52 - likely 51, 50 or similar. as you likely know the part numbers you find on the web don’t give deeper descriptions. the dealer provided a price of $456. if you don’t mind, send me a pic of your interior and your vin so I can confirm we’re talking about the same thing.
