MBUX 3.2.2 update thread

MBUX update 3.2.2 was presented to me this morning when I got in the car for work. I started the DL process on my way in, started the install process with it parked outside my office window.

Total time was about 90 minutes, only interrupted once for a very short period when the car shutoff about half an hr after leaving my key in it while on. The large majority of this was the installation, the dl didn't take too long at all.

Sure wish they had better information on what these updates include, if someone stumbles across it, please post it up.

The MBUX 3.2.2 update became available to me this morning. The download was fast, about 10 minutes. The installation is going much slower. So far 20 minutes and it’s at 27%.

Just got the notice this morning as well. Haven't let it install yet. Will probably do it later today.

MBUX 3.2.2 installed successfully with no issues. It took 10 minutes to download and 55 minutes to install. You do have to be patient. Several times it looked like the install percentage was hung up with no movement, but it did move, just slowly. Now I’d like to find out if any new features were added. I haven’t found any yet.

The $64,000 question for sure..

I've noticed a couple of things, though who knows if it's just in my head or not. In pure electric mode, the exterior sound seems different. When I plugged in after lunch I didn't have to lock the doors, the handles were already retracted, and doors were locked.

Again, both of these could be just in my head..

Thanks for sharing, will need to pay attention to these, maybe it really was one of the changes.

No Upgrade for me yet. I wonder how they decide which regions get it first. I live in the South.

My question as well, I don't think we will ever find that out.

Perhaps forum members of whom got it can share their state and whom haven't got it can share their state as well then we will know which states got it (if there is any correlation that is).

I got the notice on May 15th, but haven't allowed it to start the update until today. I dont want it interrupted even though MB says you can and it will pick up where it left off.

I decided to run it today, but this time without the engine running. Its in ACC mode and I have a battery tender connected. It's been running for 50 minutes and is currently at 51%. The driver display turned off after about 30 minutes but the center display kept showing the update progress. I hit the start button and the driver display came back on without any interruption to the update. It got stuck at 23% for a long time. Over 5 minutes. It's now at 55% as I type this.

Edit: I am in TN and its now at 58%

At the 1 hour mark, I hit 63% and the car complained the starter battery was low. I got a warning on my phone app as well. Driver display went off a moment later and several sounds of things throughout the car indicating them shutting down. The center display also went dark and I said, crap!

I hit the home button on the center display and it immediately came to life and showed the install progress at 65%. Everything else remained off, but AA started on my phone. Seems just some of the car is on now. Battery charger says 12.1v, but the workshop display showed 11.8v before it shut off.

What was the 12V battery charge level before the update started? Perhaps if it isn't at critical, things should be fine.

Well, just a few minutes after my last post it rapidly went to 100%. Then sat there for about a minute and then said it was complete and would be available on next start. I hit the start button (not pressing the brake) and cycled it through to turn it all off. It showed a message on the driver display to start the car to charge the 12v starter battery. I went out to see what the charger said and it read 11.9v. Took a few minutes to get to 12.1v. Disconnected the charger, closed everything up and started the car without issue or hesitation. MBUX version is now E270.1-5683. I went through every menu option in configuration and looked at virtually all the functions of MBUX and didn't notice a difference. With it being a dot dot update (3.2.x), I didn't expect much other than a maintenance update to fix bugs. When it changes to 3.3.x or higher I expect to notice something, but still be minor like a new feature or update to an existing feature. Software often skips versions so next may just as well be 3.4.x.

I see, any chance you can take it for a highway spin for like 45-60 minutes? For example, when the battery shows low, the email notification says to drive it to 45-60 minutes (can't remember the exact numbers). Unless you plan to trickle charge it overnight.

I decided to put the charger back on.It's at 12.5v now and still charging. Needs to be at least 13v for a full charge I believe.

I see, are you using CTEK? How many lights are illuminated when it is at 12.5V?
